Work in progress...

I started painting again. Recently I was working only on abstract paintings, what I really love to do now. However I thought I might dedicate some paintings to trees, in many shapes and colors. In the future that will be a way to remember that we had them once. Through photography as well, of course, but...well, you know what I mean.

Happy Saturday, everyone.

For 121 Pictures in 2021 #114 "Work in progress" These are pylons for a new bridge spanning the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, which runs through the gap you can discern between the pylon with the crane and the others to the left. The photo is being taken from underneath the old bridge (that metal thing on the left is one of the supports), which is part of the parking lot for the Texas State Aquarium. The smoke is from a fire somewhere along the port. We were not able to see what was burning, but it was mostly out by the time we got turned around and headed back toward home.

Maybe cutting board would be more appropriate.....kitty cat enjoying the full moon. I thought maybe an owl would have been a good subject as well--but once I drew the curled tail in here the cat had to stay.

I have a show coming up in January. I haven't been working on it as much as I'd like, but its starting to pull together.

I haven't been posting anything from it so far either, but I'll probably start leaking images I'm at least working on.

I think this venue will be a little bit more difficult than my last, but its beautiful brick walls and the fact that it's probably one of my favourite places in all of Edmonton makes up for it. Yeah Sugarbowl! If you're reading this in Edmonton, go now to Sugarbowl and check out my friend Tash's work up there until the new year. Its great. You can see it here too...http://natashalawyer.com/

I started to take final pictures outside today as the weather was nice and overcast but I'm really unhappy with that rear tower. The section that most of it's tentacles emerges from is on the other side of that white support tower and the tower is blocking the view from this side. I know it looks ok from the other angle, but since I have now run outta tiles, that opposite side is somewhat unfinished.

Low story short, it needs a quick rework. I'll build that column straight down, 4x4 studs around and lost the asymmetry. More boring but a better looking overall ship.

Yeah, all the rough edges of the glass pieces have been smoothed out on the glass grinder and fit together.

On to the next step tomorrow~~all of the edges-except the very outer edge-will be wrapped with copper foil which along with lead/tin solder is part of the 'glue' that will bind the pieces together.
