I grabbed stashed and recycled papers, envelopes and other ephemera to fill up the book. Since the binding clips open and close, I can always move things around, flip pages or add new materials.
Work in progress.
I drew on to the pages of an old book and painted the faces with pigment paint.
This picture shows them after I applied them to a previously dyed blanket.
They await stitching!

finally stopped talking about sewing and started sewing. i always make a mess while i am working, but i accidentally find a lot of good color/fabric combinations that way.
Sick of this yet? Again, just two more colors. I'm glazing the colors, in much a similar way a painter goes about layering colors in slowly.
I've gone over the fruit with Crimson Red. I run right over highlights with the red, with the full intention of bringing those back later. It softens the intensity of the white, and creates new colors like the subtle pinks in each highlight.
The shadows I go over with Tuscan Red. Tuscan Red is one of the great colors for enlivening shadows from simple black.
