First attempt at photo-retouching.
Photoshop workflow: Changed some lighting. Basic retouching (healing tool and cloning tool to remove large blemishes.) Duplicated layer. Then used the eyedropper tool to select the color of the skin. Select > Color Range and clicked around til I got most of the skin. Removed the extras from the selection (tree, hair) that got selected. Duplicated 'skin' layer. Blurred the blur skin layer with surface blur. The duplicated skin layer I filter>other>high pass and then blended with soft light. Changed opacity levels of the layers to make it look realistic rather than plastic.
