This is a workflow that I've come up with for utilizing Google's Custom Search Engine with students.

As you can see, I've developed a cyclical process whereby the CSE provides the opportunity for a teacher to use Analytics to review the keywords students are using to locate information. Follow up can then be done to help students improve their searches.

Additionally, students can be added to the CSE as contributors and a more robust CSE can develop as a result.

Le Suquet is the old quarter of Cannes, probably best known to tourists as the climbing, winding cobbled lane lined with local restaurants, Rue St Antoine. Le Suquet contains a clock tower and church that sit high facing east overlooking the Bay of Cannes and Cannes itself. At the bottom of Le Suquet on Rue Dr. P. Gazagnaire is the Marché Forville, where the market is held in the mornings and early afternoon.

This area is the original fishermans' residential area of Cannes. The houses are all very old. The streets were laid out at least 400 years ago. It is a 5-minute walk from the beach and is full of restaurants around the Rue Saint Antoine and the Rue du Suquet. A lot of the area is pedestrianised and is a major tourist attraction for visitors to Cannes.

The rue du Suquet is the original main road into Cannes. It came in below the walls of the castle (for defence reasons). It is a pedestrian street again and has plenty of restaurants [Wikipedia.org]

Social media can be – well, is- truly time-consuming. So, in order to optimise and manage your time, I strongly recommend defining your workflow. That is to say, identifying all the key tasks you do throughout the day and place them into a structure divided into blocks of time. This will allow you to have clear goals for each task and set up milestones.

Nice and even tamp!

We held a quality-control workshop for the staff last night at the coffeebar Tvålpalatset.

First we cupped two 'spro coffees from roaster Costas:

-Finca de Licho, SE, Honey processed from Costa Rica

-Bombastic, 50% La Quetzal Maracatu from Costa Rica & 50% Idido from Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia

Then we talked about how to best brew this coffee to get at the flavours we liked about the coffees.

Also how to avoid what we did NOT like about them / things to watch out for....

The staff is an assortment of baristas who have worked between 4 years to 4 months as baristas so we talked about getting rid of or adjusting old bad habits. We challenged people to tell us why they dosed, distributed, tamped as they did. Also much emphasis was put on Watching the Coffee while it brews / pours from the PF to the cup to see when to cut off the shot!

Lots of fun and a much appreciated evening for all!

Located in the heart of the glamorous city of Cannes —close to the Palais du Festival and famous Croisette walk— the Vieux Port de Cannes has been a long time favourite port of call for boats of all sizes. A wooden quay in front of the Capitainerie can accommodate yachts up to 40m there (50m upon request)
