When I got to the Braille Institute at 9:30 a.m. the workers were taking a break. I was glad they had shade to do it in.

I like this shot, because of the smoky foggy foreground. I took it when I was driving by and at the time I thought of taking the picture, the men were almost completely obliterated with the smoke from the asphalt. That was pretty cool and this was a few seconds behind.
Alicia is from Los Reyes Michoacan, Mexico. She has been residing in the United States for 17 years. She has been participating in Centro Humanitario para los Trabajadores for 5 years, as a worker doing all kinds of jobs, but especially with the womenâs program where she is part of the sewing and jewelry coops. Her dream is to one day become a professional designer and to have her own boutique where she would sell her own artistic designs.

It is a massive stone production center with strings of small companies operating in the area devoid of monopoly by any one company. The stones are then used for constructions in every part of Bangladesh. The day laborers here gets less than 2USD per day, so some workers had their whole family, including their young children to work here to dig up or crush stones.
