This is Nguyen Van Bac, a shoe polisher from Hanoi. When I saw him cleaning some shoes I stopped and asked for taking a picture. It didn't take long until he offered me a tea.
These boys, despite their undernourished bodies, pull large boats upstream, each and every day.

Basement of old ranch house in Eastern Tulare County. They are citrus farmers, first orange trees planted on this ranch in 1888.
My supervisor wanted to move a couple of people around (so that we were all sitting together), so he asked our facilities department for a couple of empty cubes. One of them turned out to have windows. It's also larger than normal.
He decided to move me into that cube and move someone else into the cube I had been in for the past three years. This happened during the last week of January, so I got to watch the February 12 snow right from my desk.
I'm still getting used to things but I've decided I do enjoy it. The only problem? It's an end cube and not as enclosed as other cubes. That means I can't get away with much anymore...

Work being done on the Welland Canal just north of Lock 8 in Port Colborne near Bridge 19.
Work being carried out is part of a two-year operation at the lock and part of an overall five-year plan for the area.
