Every time I go to the Zoo I hope to get a shot of the Wolverine and today was my day. They were both out running around, climbing trees and posing!

Saw the trailer for the new Wolverine movie in front of Watchmen this past Saturday and it looks SICK! I had an itch to paint this scene, mainly because of the lighting. Pretty happy with the turnout.

My friend saw my Captain America nails and challenged me to do Wolverine, Adventure Brothers or Predator. I instantly knew what I wanted.
For me Wolverine is always in that silly black and yellow spandex number from the nineties. So I did the rib stripes on the ring, the logo on the thumb, the mask on the index and my favorite, the claws on the middle and pinky.
I used Sally Hansen Insta-dri Expess-o Yellow with Sinful Colors stripers for the black, white and silver.
Alaska zoo - wolverine The wolverine also referred to as the glutton, carcajou, skunk bear, or quickhatch is the largest land-dwelling species of the family Mustelidae. It is a stocky and muscular carnivore, more closely resembling a small bear than other mustelids. The wolverine, a solitary animal has a reputation for ferocity and strength out of proportion to its size, with the documented ability to kill prey many times larger than itself.
The wolverine is found primarily in remote reaches of the Northern boreal forests and subarctic and alpine tundra of the Northern Hemisphere, with the greatest numbers in northern Canada, the US state of Alaska

Everyone lines up for the celeberity lap to start the Wolverine 200 24 hour bicyle marathon.
The Wolverine 200 is a 24 hour "bicyle marathon" in which the participants try to ride the most number of miles. Goals are set at 25, 50 , 100 or 200 (of course) miles. Up until the mid 1990s, the Wolverine 200 used to draw more than 2,000 participants with thousands more camping in support. The now defunct Detroit Grand Prix put serious limitations on the course and particpation has shrank to 400-500 people a year.

The articulation isn't perfect, but this is one of my favourite Wolverines.
