P-47C serial 41-6334 flown by LT Walker M. "Bud" Mahurin, 63rd Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France; Mahurin was forced to abort for mechanical problems.

During the course of his combat tour, Mahurin was officially credited with 19.75 confirmed aerial victories.

Mahurin would lose this aircraft in a midair collision a mile northwest of Metfield on 11 August 1943; he survived without injury. On 27 March 1944, flying his P-47D "Spirit of Atlantic City, NJ" (serial 42-8487, coded UN-M), Mahurin successfully engaged a Do-217, from which the four enemy crewmen parachuted safely. However, Mahurin paid for it with a damaged engine; nursing the stricken 'Jug' homeward as far as he could, he was seen to bail out and land in good shape. His luck held out as he managed to evade capture; he returned to fly combat in the Pacific (MACR 3440).

The Wolfpack decided it was time to stop the Black Knight's supremacy on the sea, so they created their own ship, the Seahorse! Light, agile but with a nice supply of weapons, this drakkar-like ship will let the Wolf people to smuggle in the harbors and to attack royal ships all around the Lego Castle's kingdoms!

With its light catapult and the powerful crossbows, the Seahorse and its crew will fear no enemy in the open seas or in the rivers. The crew is made of three brave Wolfpack men, ready to ship to great adventures!

I'm not sure I'm too happy with these guys - I'm not sure if I should switch them to swordsmen or keep their maces. I suppose I'd most rather convert them to axemen, but those clip-on axeblades are something of a pain to get.

<> 1: Being a marine has been a dream come true since I was

in the thrid grade. I was in 1/1, C Co, 3rd plt from 96-01 and then went to

Virginia to teach at security forces. Virginia was nice but I wasn't around

the real Marines ( Grunts ) and I missed them so I came on back to 1/1. My

wife has been very supportive of me since we were in high school.

2: The person most influential to me has been my dad and my wife. Both of

them because they have worked their tails off for everything they have.

When times have been tough they kept pushing and have been a success.

3: Bestfriend, without hesitation, is my lovely wife, Jamie. We have known

each other for over ten years now and it is terrific. Tt's funny that we

started in HS and now we're here. Who would have ever guessed?

4: My ideal vacation would be to go to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania

and stay there for a week or so. Also, another cruise would be nice ( hint

hint hint ).

5: Favorite food is anything that I don't have to cook myself. I love

lasanga, pizza, and steak, not always in that order though. I enjoy going

to the olive garden as well. Cars, I really don't care about as long as

they get me from one point to another safely. I'd like to get a truck when

we get back though. It's a guy thing. Io really favorite band but if i had

to pick one it would be AC/DC. No real favorite actor or actress but

Harrison Ford and Robert Redford movies I like.

6: I have two English bulldogs named Chesty and Cammie. Chesty is almost 3

and we got him 3 years ago the day after my birthday as a present from

Jamie. Well, I really put her up to it. Cammie, I think just turned one

and she is a ball of fire. Not as fat as Chesty, for those of you that have

seen them before.

7: The reason I joined the Marine Corps is kind of strange so I'll leave it

out so as to not scare the kids and the other family members that read this.

My first six months I wanted out and there wasn't a chance I'd stay in. Now

after almost nine years, I still love what I do. One, I love being called a

Marine, especially by my old man ( dad ). That I will never forget.

September 6, 1996 graduation day from boot camp. He always called me son or

Joseph, but the first person I saw after we graduated to call me a Marine

was him. What keeps me going in the gun club is the younger guys coming in

and the sense of pride. The younger ones really keep me on my toes to say

the least. I wouldn't be doing this without the support of my wife either.

She has been the best and hopefully these next 11 years go by quickly. My

family, and when the time comes, children are the most important. I want

the chance to do things while I am still young and enjoy.

P-47C serial 41-6534 "Vickie II" flown by CAPT Roger B. Dyar, 63rd Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France. His first "Vickie," P-47C serial 41-6395, had been transferred to the 84th Fighter Squadron, 78th FG at Duxford.

KIA in an engagement with FW-190s of JG-26; the ordeal of his remains immediately following his shootdown are cloudy. His U.S. Army Individual Deceased Personnel Record File begins with a grave located shortly after the Allied invasion at Normandy; remains in a civilian cemetery in Fecamp, France marked "Unbekannt RAAF" (unknown Royal Australian Air Force) dated "11 July 44" (this may be a typographical error) turned out to be Dyar's, based on dental record comparisons. Following identification, the remains were re-buried at the St. Andre-de-Eure American military cemetery on 15 April 1945. Three years later, Dyar's body was exhumed and re-interred at the American Military Cemetery at St. Laurent on 15 September 1948.

This is a handful of troops from my initial take on the Wolfpack - hardened mercenaries from Eastern Europe. Many of their comrades are still missing limbs from the beating they took from >jovian<'s undead legion on the final day of BrickFair 2009.

While I like the uniformity of each type of soldier, I would have to think about it and place these guys at a specific point in history to justify it as I move forward with this. The pikemen I certainly want to keep as the unit's backbone, though I'm not in love with the connection between lance and 6-bar, I find it serviceable enough. I'm considering another type or color of armor for the macemen, and pehaps giving a portion of them a larger shield. The archers are the least complete of the three main troop types - I have them as crossbowmen presently only because I haven't yet decided how I want to brick-build their bows. They also seem like they could use an off-hand weapon, though I'm not sure what that might be - francisca axes seem appropriate. I like brown legs for them, but I haven't yet found a good substitute for the dark grey arms.

Hopefully I'll have the whole company of them assembled before too long and I can start work on a small field camp vignette for them. (And perhaps bash a few heads in a BrikWar or two along the way.)
