P-47C serial 41-6189 flown by LT Charles R. Harrison, 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France.
During the course of his combat tour, he was officially credited with three confirmed aerial victories.
He was KIA flying P-47D serial 42-75388 (coded LM-H) on 15 April 1944, when he was shot down in an engagement with an FW-190 west of Hamburg, Germany (MACR 3904).

P-47D serial 42-7887 flown by LT Byron L. Morrill, 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France.
On a 26 November 1943 withdrawal support mission, Morrill reported a low fuel indication prior to rendezvous with the bomber stream; with Leroy A. "Schreib" Schreiber escorting him, Morrill was ordered to head for home. Schreiber noted a vapor stream trailing Morrill's 'Jug,' but they were too low to leave contrails: it was an obvious fuel leak. Morrill bailed out over the Zuider Zee, and spent the remainder of hostilities as a POW (MACR 1275). He spent his free time as a 'kriegie' painting in watercolors, compliments of the sporadic Red Cross parcels.
P-47C serial 41-6239 "Kentucky Pud" flown by LT Ralph A. Johnson, 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France.
Badly damaged in an engagement with FW-190s of JG-26, Johnson was forced to abandon his bird over the Channel, and was rescued.
During the course of his combat tour, Johnson was officially credited with three confirmed aerial victories.
P-47D serial 42-7865 flown by LT George R. Spaleny, 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France.
Spaleny was flying this aircraft when he was shot down 16 August 1943; he spent the remaider of hostilities as a POW (MACR 266).
P-47C serial 41-6337 flown by LT Eugene E. Barnum, Jr, 61st Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France.
During the course of his combat tour, Barnum was officially credited with two confirmed aerial victories.
Eventually promoted to the rank of Captain, Barnum was KIA on 2 December 1944 flying P-47D serial 44-19739 (coded HV-A). While maneuvering for a deflection shot on an ME-109, Barnum's aircraft was struck by a 63rd Fighter Squadron Thunderbolt flown by 2LT Wyman A. Baker (P-47D serial 42-28741, coded UN-C); both pilots died in the collision.
MACRs 10799 and 10801.
This aircraft was lost 31 December 1943; LT William A. Mrangello perished in an unsuccessful ditching attempt in the English Channel (MACR 1861).

During the course of his combat tour, Whitley was officially credited with two confirmed aerial victories.
This aircraft was later transferred to the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th FG.

P-47D serial 42-7878 flown by LT Donald M. Goodfleisch, 63rd Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France.
During the course of his combat tour, Goodfleisch was officially credited with two confirmed aerial victories.
This aircraft appears to have served later with the 495th Fighter Training Group, suffering a landing accident at Creil, France (A-81C) on 16 November 1944.
P-47C serial 41-6332 "Butch" flown by MAJ Loren G. "Mac" McCollom, 61st Fighter Squadron, 56th FG. Bomber escort mission to Villacoublay, France.
McCollom commanded the group on this mission, leading the 63rd Fighter Squadron.
Transferred to the 353rd Fighter Group in the late summer, he took command of that unit on 18 August 1943. During the course of his tour there, "Mac" was officially credited with one confirmed aerial victory. He was shot down 25 November and spent the remainder of hostilities as a POW (MACR 1446). Following the war, McCollom made a career of the Air Force, retiring at the rank of Major General in April 1968. He passed away 15 May 1982.

Found this old RV with a paint job representing my Alma Mater at a local restaurant not too far from campus. Great job of showing some Wolfpack Pride, and seems like just the right vehicle for some serious tailgating. But, as I'm not up on older RV's, what is it exactly?

This time other fraction, Wolfpack. This is one of my favourite nation of Lego Castle. Maybe that gatehouse will be a part of something bigger :) I want to build big fortress based on modular elements, which could be useable in other models. But I’m not sure that my computer has enough power, we will see ;)
