Perhaps I'll get around to building the rest of Hogsmeade village in its entirety one day?
Historica Book II- Challenge One- Category A
The swamps of Nocturnus have never been safe for travelers to explore and now they are even more dangerous with the war going on.
The Black Spire will stop at nothing to win and have recruited only the most cunning and power forces to fight on their side, and no one is safe to step in the lands now.
This summer will be the opening of the Pixie Boutique on Pixie Isle. FiFi and Trixie LaBlume, have been preparing all year for their fashion show at The La Dolie Opera House. This would be the first fashion show for the two pixie sisters who had left The Phantom Chillarie Theatre Group just last year to pursue their love for designing.
Their debut line will consist of a variety of cutting edge bustiers with vintage ribbons and tulle skirts layered over funky leggings. There will be lots of frills and glam in this collection, complete with dazzling Austrian Crystal colorful tiaras and blown glass flutter rings to accompany the pixie wings.
Pictured here is Polly Andrews, the lead model for the show, who was just featured on the cover of The Faerie Princess Magazine and in The Pixie Times. Polly with her velvety blonde hair, comes from the Rouge Agency and so does her friend Lisette, a new up coming model with gorgeous violet eyes and radiant long brown hair.
To show no hard feeelings that the La Blume sisters didn't renew their contract, The Phantom Chillarie will provide the props and flowers for the show, along with some advertising, other sponsors include: The Paris Magic Group, Hollowood Bank and Trust, Langley Grace Designs and The Garden Bug Cafe.
Every show has a theme, FiFi and Trixie choose a carnival theme. They even transformed the Opera House into an acting Carnival with Pierrots, Ballerinas, Acrobats, and a Lion Tamer, all courtesy of The Percy Peapack Carnival which opens on the Isle two days later. Some of the models will ride down the runway on elephants costumed in LaBlume clothing, others will roller skate while eating cotton candy and the rest will walk with balloons and candy apples.
At the end of the show, guests will be ushered into the opera promenade where they will be given either cotton candy light puffs or sparklers. Then the models, circus performers and The LaBlume Sisters will be whisked away in the Vintage Hot Air Balloons, in an eclectic blend of shapes and designs followed by a magnificant firework display.
I was impressed with the show, however, Lisette, who has no last name, seemed weird, quite strange if you ask me, there was just something about her that bothered me, I don't know what it was, she just did. What's even more strange is that the owner of The Phantom Chillarie has never been seen, only his liason, Groman Felsaunt, who is the appointed, head of the Chillarie. I asked my parents why no one has seen him, they claim, its because of his involvement with the dark arts. Rumors have circulated that he has a secret den where he tortored Pixies and Wizards for their magic, but it can't be proven.
Adventures of a young wizard.
Professor Hoffmann (1839 - 1919), born Angelo John Lewis in England, was a lawyer, professor and the leading writer on magic, and on the games, amusements and puzzles of his time. He wrote a series of articles on magic for a boy's magazine (“Every Boy's Annual”) that was later expanded into his classic book on magic, “Modern Magic,” first published in 1876. He used the pen name, Professor Hoffman, because he feared that his professional prospects as a lawyer would be injured if it became known that he possessed such an intimate knowledge of the arts of deception. He was also the author of a novel for kids entitled “Conjurer Dick” (1886). Another of his works is entitled “The Haunted Hat,” a magical short story, first published in Chambers's Journal, January 7, 1905.
His classic “Modern Magic” (1876), and three sequels (“More Magic” (1890), “Later Magic” (1903), and “Latest Magic” (1918) have been reprinted numerous times in many different editions since their original publication, and are still in print and enjoy popular sales today to magic enthusiasts.
Of the series, “Modern Magic” is the most famous. It provides advice on the appearance, the manner of dress, and the staging for magicians. It goes on to describe many different effects with playing cards, coins, watches, rings, handkerchiefs, dominoes, dice, cups and balls, balls, and hats. It concludes with a long chapter on miscellaneous tricks, including magic with strings, gloves, eggs, rice and descriptions of some utility devices. The penultimate chapter describes large stage illusions, and the final chapter contains advice on routines for a magic show, and more advice on staging.
Its popularity is due in part to the scarcity of teaching materials available to would-be magicians in the late 19th Century. “Modern Magic” was the first book in the English language to really explain the techniques of how to perform magical feats.

Any help is welcome since unfortunately the project is not getting to much attention.
Not being familiar with future technology, Harry assumes that the DeLorean is a magic flying car like the Weasleys' Ford Anglia.
I went to go see the midnight showing of Harry Potter 5: Order of the Phoenix last night (it's officially out on the 11th, today). IT WAS AWESOMEEEEEE! YAYYYY !
I effing love all the Harry Potter books and movies, and although I'm a huge nerd about it, I felt like I should share it with the world.
This is me taking off with my magic (kitchen) broomstick and my fake Harry Potter glasses. You can't see it that well but I'm also wearing a Hogwarts track jacket (it's got the school crest on the front).

The only light is coming from the bulb itself.
Used the live view of my camera to be able to make a composition and the remote shutter with 2 seconds delay.
I had a difficult time, the light buld is a led bulb and apparently the results in a very flickering image on the live view.

Hedwig was Harry Potter's loyal companion and messenger
I built this model for a LEGO Ideas contest, formerly Rebrick (not meant to be a set) In the Creatures category of Magical Builds of the Wizarding World.
Initially I wanted to build Buckbeak, but I got impatient waiting for some parts, and just started making Hedwig instead.
Since the snowy owl is an almost completely white bird, I had to bring some colour to the scene by adding some scenery which also puts her into the context of the Harry Potter universe.
There once was a man who had a desire
For potions and spells and billowing fire
He set off to learn of the magical way
Many a year was spent until he was gray
Alas his desire for magic was satisfied
He was the strongest wizard, the novices' guide
Up to him they all did look
With a burning desire to read from his book
But they would have to wait as well
Earn their keep, and prove their spell
And just like he, they would someday receive
The honor of donning the Wizard's sleeves
Halloween Advent 2011 - Figure Calendar
"The Door, the Echo, the Guest, and the Palace,
Over a mannequin shaped with awkward hands,
Teaching it the arcane knowledge of symbols of time and space.
The Simulacrum raised its sleepy eyelids,
Saw forms and colors that it did not understand,
And confused by our babble made fearful movements."
