If the dimly lit tunnel and tight alleyway of Goodwin’s Court gives you a case of the shivers, it’s because this dark passage in London's Covent Garden was the inspiration for Diagon Alley’s creepy evil twin, Knockturn Alley, as seen in the Harry Potter films. Go shopping for a Vanishing Cabinet or dismembered hand, if you dare.
Here's an extra photo that I edited up a bit more for the photo contest.
Hope everyone's doing well!

My favorite Harry Potter quote.

Let's put Serana aside for a moment and focus on a very vicious NPC.. Ancano.
I swear to god so many people thought i was INSANE. Like, CRAZY. But that's okay, i like it that way/
The cat is mine, Lucy. :]
The "broom" i made myself out of pine needles.
“The dragon roared, and spat out fire, the house caught on fire.
“Hold the dragon back!” Exclaimed Aidric. “I'll put out the fire!”
The knights were noble, valiant men, but they didn't stand a chance. Magic was needed. And magic was what Aidric possessed.
Aidric raised his staff, and a mighty green light sprang forth from it! The water from the pond swirled, and raised up, creating a sphere of water. The sphere shot out to he fire, and as fast as the fire had came, it was gone.
The dragon swiped a mighty paw, and felled Sir Theodoren. With a roar, a stream of fire spewed from the dragons mouth, engulfing Sir Theo.
“No!!” Cried Sir Espan.
Espan raised his sword, and charged the dragon.
“Stay back!” Yelled Aidric. “I'm coming”
Aidric raised his staff again, and the brilliant light of green was back, twice as large as before!
All the water in the pond swirled out, and with superhuman strength, it slammed into the head of the dragon! The dragon let out a mighty roar! Espan, and Sir Rowan took advantage of the dragons temporary blindness, and charged with their swords.
The dragon flapped its magnificent wings, and flew up into the air. A spell from the ancient language spewed from Aidrics mouth, and the dragon was pushed back, far into the open plain.
The dragon flew away, recognizing it's defeat.
The knights cheered! Aidric let out a sigh of relief. For now, the battle was over.
But the dragon would be back. And it would be stronger than ever.”
My entry to the Dragon contest, hosted by the amazing Siercon and Coral. Sorry about the not-so-good backstory. It would have been better if I had took more time to write the story, but oh well.
Overall pic.
The rain had stopped. The wizard looked out the stained glass window in his stone tower. He searched his memory for a time when he had seen a rain storm as violent as this one had been. He could not find one. He decided to put the recent storm into the back of his mind, and focus upon his parchments. Later that night, he heard a loud thud at his door. He went to open it, but found no one in sight. He briskly climbed up the staircase in his tower to look out from one of the higher windows in an attempt to spot the trouble makers who had knocked upon his door. Upon arriving at the window, his hawk-like eyes could not locate even a trace of movement. He began to turn around to go back down to his study; where his many parchments were waiting for him. Suddenly, in the corner of his eye, he saw a flicker of light. As the wizard wheeled around in search of its source he froze. His gaze locked upon the flaming eyes of none other than Sir Pumpkin. The wizard was stunned. Some weeks before, Sir Pumpkin had come to propose an allegiance between their territories. The wizard had refused this offer. His mind now back in the present moment, the wizard looked at Sir Pumpkin. Sir Pumpkin silently pointed toward the window. The wizard looked out, but did not see anything out of the ordinary. Grabbing the wizard by his black cloak, Sir Pumpkin lead him up the final staircase to the top of the lookout tower. Again, Sir Pumpkin pointed out toward the wizard's property. This time, upon looking at the ground, the wizard noticed thousands of plants had sprouted across the land. There had previously been few, if any. As he scanned his property, his gaze stopped upon his walkway. It was broken apart by the roots of the new plants and was disintegrating. The wizard then looked to the cave at the base of the tower. Numerous spiders began to pour out of the mouth of the cave. The wizard snapped back around at Sir Pumpkin. Without any expression upon his face, Sir Pumpkin held out a scroll and a quill pen to the wizard. The scroll contained the terms of the proposed allegiance, only harsher than before. As well as a blank line at the bottom for a signature. The wizard looked back at Sir Pumpkin, then back at the scroll. The wizard then held out his hands to receive the scroll and the pen...
Come explore the world of faeries and fantasy creatures in this new field guide: W.B. Wistica's International Faerie Field Guide.
This is a typical Faerie from the Cottingley Woods Section. Normally these tiny creatures have fire red hair, small pointy ears and Earth tone wings which helps them to blend into the landscape of the forest, hiding from un-expected visitors. These Faeries will let you know if they want to be found.

Aures, Tove, Lulu, Lysandra, and Bobby prepare for their first real concert as a band. A surprise pop up show in Hogsmeade for the monthly school trip to the village. Toves father provided the stage, decor, and of course some equipment upgrades. He had a lot to make up for since he promised Tove and Aures a trip to Japan over the summer but didn't follow through.
Of course what was a first gig without proper band photos!
Pics of my project with better quality.

Any help is welcome since unfortunately the project is not getting to much attention.
In the little cottage of Autumberry, on the right hand side of Saint Michael’s chapel, just over the hill, lived the Honeycutts. Never had something extraordinary happened to the Honeycutts, despite maybe the birth of the twins Abigale and Adrian. Mr. and Mrs. Honeycutt loved their children more than anything and were sure they would become something special one day. And as if the future couldn’t wait to prove it, that day came on an early July morning, not long after the twins had turned eleven years old. Mrs. Honeycutt had just put breakfast on the table, after Mr. Honeycutt had left in a hurry after a sudden call from his boss. It was a lucky coincidence that no newspaper had come that day, otherwise he surely wouldn’t have been as quick to leave the house. Just as Mrs. Honeycutt started wondering what was taking the postman so long, a sound reminiscent of a soap bubble popping could be heard from the garden, immediately followed by the ring of the doorbell.
Abigale Honeycutt turned around. Usually there were no visitors that early. Curiously she looked at the door. Who could it be? Her father had complained about the missing newspaper earlier, so this visitor had to be the postman, Abby thought and curiously looked at the door. In the doorway stood a friendly looking, yet rather oddly dressed man. He wore a melon top hat, but unlike the suit which normally went with it, he had combined it with a long orange and brown robe, which fell down to his ankles. Weird looking symbols were woven into the fabric and it seemed like some of the patterns were even moving. In his hands he held two big letters, each with a big red wax crest on them. What a peculiar postman, Abby thought.
„Good morning, Mrs. Honeycutt.“ The man said in a cheerful chime. „I am Alfred Copperbottom, from the education officer of the Ministry of Magic. I have the honor to deliver two letters to young Mr. Adrian and Mr. Abigale Honeycutt. They have both been accepted into the Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft.“ Mrs. Honeycutt looked at him in utter confusion. „I know, this might be a bit surprising to you and it is my duty to introduce you and your children into the magical as smoothly as possible.“, he continued. Mrs. Honeycutt looked even more perplexed. „Wait, wait, wait… what in heavens name are you talking about?“, she interrupted his speech. He looked at her with a warm and welcoming smile. „Your children are wizards!“
What was he talking about? Wizards, magic and even a school for it? „Didn’t you ever notice anything strange about your children? Anything they did or that happened, that wasn’t normal? That seemed unexplainable?“ he asked. Mrs. Honeycutt still looked puzzled, but Abby started thinking. She had always considered herself and her brother to be absolutely ordinary children. Sure, sometimes there were weird coincidences. Just this morning, her mother had tried to serve them fried eggs. Abby preferred the yellow part, while her brother only liked the egg white. And while their mother insisted they both ate a whole egg, the eggs themselves absolutely refused to stay together and always separated before landing on their plate. And the drawer with the cookies also sometimes unlocked itself, when the two of them craved a late night snack. But that was normal, right? Her mother must have thought the same thing and after she had overcome her initial shock, she started questioning Mr. Copperbottom about the the magical world and about his state of mind, which she apparently had serious doubts in. It was only when he commanded an apple from the fruit basket right into his hand with a flick of his wand, that she finally believed him. The twin’s excited gasps made the radio turn on and the tea bubble in their cups and now it was clear; They were wizards and they were going to Hogwarts.

I hope you enjoy this new little story set in the Harry Potter universe. I’ve always been a big fan of the Harry Potter franchise and some of most fond Lego memories stem from playing with the first Harry Potter sets. Recently, I’ve been getting back into it and now, the new Harry Potter sets present the perfect opportunity for me to tell my own little tale in this magical world. This vignette is planned to be the first part in a little series, following Abigale „Abby“ Honeycutt and her brother Adrian, as they attend the magical school of Hogwarts. I will try to pack as many details into these builds as possible and show some of the parts of the magical world, that weren’t as prominently featured in the books and films. I hope you are as excited as I am for this.
It's getting colder and colder in my city but today's weather was perfect for some photography with my favourite wizard!
Wizard and Dragon by Takashi Hojyo
Highly inspired by fan favorite and beloved uncle Iroh and the song by NerdOut!
Check it out!
A wizard, hard at work in his laboratory, creating a new potion infused with magic.
Phew! Shooting and processing have taken 10 hours, and I’m exhausted! And that's not including creating the spell book pages, watch face and spell casting effect all of which took many more hours of work, in advance.

If you want to see the instructions of how to make this kind of silhouette shots, please visit the Silhouette Set and read the Set description, thanks
I think that the blue color and bass combines a lot. The silhouette of the woman gives to the photo the feeling of a musician from darkness (she plays bass by the way, so, it´s a model who feels secure and comfortable with the object that she is posing with, and that helps a lot).
Tips to silhouette photos:
#1 - A strong SPOT light, please
#2 - Put the light behind the person, pointed to the wall
#3 - Clear wall color, better contrast
#4 - Use a closed aperture to get all the details of possible hairs escaping
#5 - Don't use the photometer, just SHOOT, a LOT, with your sense.
#6 - Use tripod in the first shots, after them, try to shoot whitout
#7 - Use ISO400 if you don't have a tripod, this photo has a 1/20 speed, so it's a little slow. I used a tripod on it, if I didn't have, i would use ISO800 and 1/40 or 1/60
#8 - If you don't have a macro lens, try to get closer the person
#9 - Your autofocus probably won't work well because the area that you're trying to focus has low light and the autofocus needs light to know where the focus is (make sense). So you have to do the following:
#9.1 - Use a lantern in the face of the person, get the focus, turn off the lantern and shoot
#9.2 - Try to focus with AF, when focused, don't move the position of the camera (a tripod would help) and pass it to MF ;)
The objective is to maintain only the wall lightened.
A music to relax :)
Blue On Black,
by Kenny Wayne Shepherd
(just the chorus)
Blue on black,
tears on a river
Push on a shove,
it don't mean much
Whisper on a scream,
doesn't change a thing
Don't bring you back
Blue on black
P/Nat:
I came up with the idea of creating diorama of mages dueling within a alchemist’s laboratory in October of 2024. The Frost Wizard was already built when Brickscalibur came around with a similar category. I then built the Flame Witch and entered the two models in that competition just for fun. The end goal was always to place them in a large diorama along with a cowering Alchemist and their familiars. I had lots of fun coming up with things to place on the shelves and creating the Chimera trophy over the fireplace. I even added a microscale version of my Mesusa’s Lair model from last year as an Easter Egg.
Available at H:YS fair. Opens 23-26th August
The nimbus 1700 is a predecessor of the reknowned nimbus 2000 and 2001 in harry potter. harry's first broom was the nimbus 2000 while draco bought 7 of the 2001s. The Nimbus Racing Broom Company stayed atop the field of sport brooms and makes high end sports brooms. This is my version of it which is more vintage and rugged looking than the 2000 or 2001.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
*After rezzzing, there will be a magic black cloak that covers the broom and stand. simply click it for it to vanish in smoke and you will see your broom and fitting stand.
IMPORTANT: Broom is for wearing not sitting!!
Moments before opening her acceptance letter to Hogwarts.
Not realising how different her life would be after opening the letter
A witch is a person, often a woman, who practices witchcraft. A man that practices witchcraft is often called a warlock. The stereotypical witches are commonly portrayed as wicked old women who have wrinkled skin and pointy hats. They wear clothes that are black or purple. They also have warts on their noses and sometimes long claw-like fingernails. Witches have often been seen outside accepted cultures and faith. People often made them feel unwanted in their societies.

The last weekend of August 2008 took place the yearly World Statues Festival (Living Statues Festival) in the city centre of Arnhem (Netherlands) with more then 250 participants and over 300.000 visitors.
The 5th anniversary of World Statues is on the 29th and 30th of August 2009.
The term living statue refers to a mime artist who poses like a statue or mannequin, usually with realistic statue-like makeup, sometimes for hours at a time.
This is an art that requires a great deal of patience and physical stamina.
