Looking Close on Friday - Wise words
#11 - 100 x challenge - Lensbaby
I bought this heart shaped pebble a while back with a particular photo in mind but didn't get around to it before the pandemic hit. Now it will have to wait but thought it would be perfect for this theme.
Lensbaby Sweet 35 with macro converter.
For those that don't know, the title is from As Time Goes By. Here is a link to the version by the amazing Billie Holiday.

You're welcome, enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.
It was a scene that made me go silent for a few seconds as if this stunning owl was about to convey to his audience the wise words they came to hear.
Struggled to create or find some simple wise words when I remembered this coin bought from Disney Springs years ago!
Was also determined not to add the words afterwards, been doing that all day in my real job!
Today I went for a walk to somewhere I haven’t been for awhile. It was a change of scene while still being close to home. This stone in the park caught my attention.
Certainly something to think about...
What will I do to make someone’s life better today?...
Perhaps I can begin with words of kindness...
I wish you health and happiness...

A sayings from Confucius.
For so many years I dead-headed the big white lace-cap hydrangea that grows over the front of our house - and I never stopped to really appreciate the hidden beauty I was impatiently throwing into the barrel of weeds.
I don't know what made me stop this time, and put some aside to think about and maybe photograph.
The vase is a miniature hand-thrown made by Yuta Segawa in London.

I keep this can of engine starter fluid handy to help me start my aging lawn mower used to mow my postage-stamp sized Southern California lawn. The fluid is meant to be combustible, but I guess they needs these wise words on the can so someone doesn’t get accidentally hurt from misuse.

Parfois on trouve des mots avisés dans les endroits les plus inespérés… 😉. Celui-ci se trouve sur un magnet de mon frigo (et il y en a des tas d'autres!!)

For the "Looking close... on Friday!" challenge "wise words"....
So many wise words to choose from! Ones to make me smile, ironic ones and ones that may only mean something to me! So I chose one that bridges my love of Taoist philosophy with a more European source in Ancient Greece! It seems to resonate with the world we live in today, where all the online chatter can drown out the quiet and simplicity we seek.

Engaging in random acts of kindness makes us happier people and it doesn't have to cost anything; small gestures such as holding the door open for someone, smiling at a stranger while passing them on the street or striking up a conversation with the person next to you on the bus are simple ways to make someone's day!
