Is this gross to post a picture of the bruise on my face? I have been trying to decide... but what the heck, I will show you anyway.
The bruise on my cheek/jaw is still evident, even 9 days after the surgery! I got all four of my wisdom teeth out and it actually bruised closer to my chin than on my neck. The bruise was purple/green before, so the yellow is much better.
I have gotten several questions about it from people at the gym, people at work, etc. Oh well, it is almost gone...
I requested the dentist that I keep my wisdom teeth. Weird, I know, but I like to save them for posterity's sake.
And despite the whimsical nature of this photo, I'm actually in a lot of excrutiating pain. FUUUUUU-
This is the last full day that I will have this many teeth! lol Tomorrow at 7:45 I'm getting my bottom wisdom teeth taken out.
All four of my wisdom teeth were severely impacted, so all but one were bashed into tiny pieces upon extraction. Unfortunately, my anesthesia treatment was not of the full knock-me-out brand, and though I couldn't feel the pain until the last tooth, I can't eliminate the drilling noises and the furious yanking throughout the entire procedure. It was like shielding my eyes from a gory horror movie. "Is it over yet? Is it over?" Also, the anesthesia made me bawl for an entire half hour after the surgery. I don't know what menopause feels like, but I'm sure this comes close.
Nevertheless, I'm glad they're out, and I thank my friends Heather & B for being my girly movie partners for the afternoon. Currently accepting more volunteers to hand-deliver ice cream this way. Ha ha.
PS. Tylenol 3s are the best invention in the world, next to profiteroles, tiramisu, and boys who wear sweaters over button-up shirts. Just saying.
Not all scrapbook photos are of happy times. My son, learning why they are called "wisdom teeth". He had all 4 cut out Friday afternoon.

the waiting time for this process was not so fun.. makes for a great paper-weight." Tomitheos

Hi, everyone!
Okayyyy ...
It's just a spontaneous photo which I took one day before I got two widsomteeth removed. (I took this on 22nd July.)
Don't worry, bros, the other two wisdomteeth will also be removed in some months. -___-
Actually, I just uploaded this because I wanted to tell / show you that I'm still alive! :D
I hope everyone of you is doing great!
I got my wisdom teeth out this friday.
It was a........blast..

Patient tolerated procedure well, no complication noted for this wisdom tooth surgery. We will follow her up in one week.
Her prescriptions:
Decadron 4mg x2 tabbles right away in office
Amoxil 250mg one three times a day x 30
Vicodin ES one every 6 hours as needed for pain x 30
I got a consultation done for my wisdom teeth today and I'm quite nervous now. Normally dental procedures fascinate me, but oh...my...gawd...y'all. The orthodontist said that my right bottom wisdom tooth's root is very, very close to a nerve. If it gets severed, then my chin and lip could possibly get permanently numb. PERMANENTLY NUMB. :/
didn't get to uploading yesterdays photos because i was busy doing nothing. yep. so i had all the time in the word to edit and upload. did i? not until midnight and at that time i was just too drained to finish. third day home doing nothing because of my stupid wisdomteeth. I woke up feeling great, ran outside and took some (boring) nature shots, and then about an hour or two later i grew exhausted again and didn't feel too well. and this shot reminds me of this with the grain and all :) I wish this was film for the life of me.
I need to budget my money for:
1. Film and 2. Beegie Adair CD's :)
my horrible braces required the removal of my wisdom teeth and I was required to be awake while they sawed my jaw bone to release these fuckers.
I took them home, to the garage, and carefully placed them in a vice before using my tiniest (regular old wood) drill bit and put holes directly thru each tooth.
After my dental surgery on Friday to have my wisdom teeth out, this is how my face felt. The surgery didn't go as planned, and after two hours of torture, I was only able to have one tooth removed.
My dentist gave me a daily regiment of loopy drugs to consume which make me feel a little weird and hungry, but overall very creative!
Going to toss up a few of these simple concept photos over the next few days, and while I'm not quite sure what to do for my 52 weeks project this week, I've got some ideas in the works for later.
I have to start planning for wisdom tooth surgery. Ugh. You can't see it, but I'm glaring at the flat screen monitor that was hovering above my chair, showing my wisdom teeth. The sad thing about my wisdom teeth is that I actually have enough room for all of them in my giant, giant mouth but the bottom ones are coming in sideways. The top ones are already in but I can't leave them orphaned without teeth to meet... so out come all four teeth.
I have no idea WHEN I can take a whole week off of life and school and work... but I'll have to find the time soon before my wisdom teeth become even more impacted and wrap themselves around the nerves.
I've never had surgery before. Not even once. I have had four teeth pulled before and five years of braces, though, so I'm well versed in the joys of dental pain and nitrous oxide. For this surgery, though, I'm going to have them put me completely out.
Eek.

The dental office poses for should have been their holiday cards that year. All four of my wisdom teeth came out cleanly and are visible on my chest.
My dentist yesterday informed me both my bottom wisdom teeth are growing sideways and needed to be taken out.
SIDEWAYS.
WHY?

I've just been to the dentist, getting the message I've got three wisdom teeth that needs to be remowed sooner rather than later. "Remowed" in this case means cut out. Ofcourse the dentist used the word "operate", but it means at least one knife, and that makes me sweat like an hour in the gym just thinking about it... *whine*
Oh, and i look SO tired on this shot.. :p
Full mouth x-ray that I got prior to having my wisdom teeth pulled last week. They asked if I could remove my earring. I said "Not without pliers." We left it in.
I go in for wisdom tooth surgery tomorrow morning at 7:45am. Due to the severe impaction and angle of my impacted wisdom tooth, I will be put under general anesthesia for the procedure. My other three wisdom teeth will be pulled at the same time.
I'm nervous. I have never been put under general anesthesia. :(
Tomorrow at 11am I'm having my wisdom teeth pulled. All are "boney impactions" and need to be removed. I had initially planned on having 3 removed (all but the upside down one on the left) but starting last night the sucker started hurting. The dentist was concerned about it's position and how close it is to my nerve and jaw. He has cautioned that I could lose sensation in half of my mouth... permanently. And even have a broken jaw.
Because of that advice I planned on leaving the left tooth be but since it's giving me pain I'd rather just get them all out.
I'll be going in with only Local Anesthesia... so wish me luck. I was given the option of going under but insurance doesn't cover it and I'd have to come out of pocket the price of my Tamron 17-50 lens. Trust me... I will have earned that lens after this.
My mom is coming to help D with the girls for the weekend. If you have any home remedies or food suggestions I'd appreciate. I bought a bag of potatoes for mashing and plan to eat that and avocados. I've also heard that drinking pineapple juice can alleviate the swelling and pain? Yah, apparently pineapple works for everything.
Pay no mind to my cavities... it should be a lesson to you all to brush and floss and make your children do the same!
i went to the dentist today because i have been suffering with bad head aches and jaw ache. As i suspected i have to have my lower wisdom teeth out at hospital under full anesthetic.
has anyone had this operation done? what was it like, did it hurt etc. but more importantly will it affect me doing my 365s!!!!!!!
D200, Nikkor 50mm, tripod, SB-600 1/4 though umbrella, not the x-ray i had today but one taken off the net.
