Oświęcim (Auschwitz) is a village in Upper Silesia (Poland), that was invaded by the Nazis at the beginning of WWII. There they found 16 dilapidated buildings that had served as barracks, and also as a camp for transient workers. After rebuilding, they began to send prisoners there. First, German criminals, and Polish soldiers or political prisoners.
