I really feels like winter in the forest now. This also means that a lot more light reaches the undergrowth.

The hills are lost in cloud and mist. I understand this view has disappeared due to tree growth.

WIT: It was a very very cold day today, with temperatures around minus 42ºC. Drove north and found this farm. Took a few pics before my fingers started to freeze to immobility in my gloves. The sky was such a sharp cold blue (probably because of the temperature), I wanted to emphasize this with a vertical landscape image. In post I cropped to 10 by 8 vertical and cleaned up a few spots in the sky caused by slighty dusty mirror in my camera.
The onslaught of the ice storm left many in the dark and cold...
Yet, warmth returned once again....

Took this photo in an old abandoned house where my Great Grandparents used to live. Standing in a cold dark room where the floor was caving in and bits of the ceiling were scattered around my feet it was nice to see this light softly falling on parts of the house bringing a little color and warmth back to the place.

Winter Wonderland written in 1934 by Felix Bernard (composer)
and Richard B. Smith (lyricist).
There are lots of interpretations. Here comes Pat Boone:

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland.
Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.
Later on, we'll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we've made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman,
Until the other kids knock him down.
When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
