Braving the winter chill, I ventured out into my garden with camera in hand. I ended up with soggy socks, but also some images of the amazing beauty that remains even after the colorful flowers have gone.
"I've been a dweller on the plains,
have sighed when summer days were gone; no more I'll sigh; for winter here
Hath gladsome gardens of his own." ~ Dorothy Wordsworth

The settlement lies on the spurs of the Smolensk-Moscow Upland; the relief gradually decreases from the northwest of the city to the south and southeast, lying in the floodplain of the Moskva River. Gully erosion processes are widespread. The absolute marks of height are in the region of 190-220 meters.
The city is quite densely surrounded by forests, mostly mixed, with some coniferous areas. The species composition of forest plantations is mainly represented by spruce, birch, and aspen. Treeless areas are highly urbanized.

Went back to my spot at Loch Lomond this evening. I’d been there earlier last week to get this shot however the image was slightly out of focus. I liked the way this turned out and love my new firecrest 13 stop. Have a peaceful weekend.

Winter is very precious to me. Cold nights with the glow of the heater in the dark, our cats on my bed, Wonderfully cozy. Plus delicious foods like oxtail casserole and all kinds of yummy soups. Right now, in South Africa it's summer and the humidity is so suffocating, it makes me physically sick and weak. February is worse, not looking forward to that hellish month, it's the warmest month in my country. But after that, we're on our way to winter again. It's difficult for me to make winter art, because we never get snow in the region where i live. I literally have no concept of what a Real winter is. At least we get coldness:-)
This work is two different bird shots of mine from years ago, combined and paintified.
