Spend (part of) the last day of 2017 above the snow-covered Austrian Alps under an endless dome of blue sky? Yep, I can go with that!

A bit more of that night-time cockpit magic as we bear down on Croatia's capital Zagreb on a mostly clear - but still pitch black - night...

When clouds decide to go vertical here on the Balkans, they sure do so with a vengeance. The week's heatwave, high humidity and constant sunshine were very beneficial to the formation of all sorts of cumulus clouds - many of which had decided to gang up together and form large storm systems that constantly interfered with aerial navigation. Down here in the turboprop levels, avoiding action was pretty much the only constant, resulting in flight tracks that even the best drunken driver could not have matched...

We've had several gray beginnings lately.

We had unexpected visitors on the lawn today. They were fun to watch. You can see that we need rain. Won't be long 'til our rainy season begins though.
