Closer view of Shiprock and it’s dikes radiating out from the center. Shiprock, a monadnock rising 1,583 feet above the high-desert plain of the Navajo Nation in San Juan County, New Mexico. This rock formation is the erosional remnant of the throat of a volcano that stood above here over 27 million years ago. Shiprock and the surrounding land have religious and historical significance to the Navajo people. Soft rain this morning lent everything an over-saturated color, crying out for photos even through windows or screens.
The air is icky with smoke and haze and smell....even though it is seemingly overcast, the sun is warm behind all those layers. Looking out of another window at the bird feeders and bath.
View from the apartment window at Club Mahindra Resort, Coorg. I arrived here in night so nothing was visible but in morning when I drew the curtain this beuatiful view greeted me.
15 minutes from Heathrow and we're passing Ramsgate with Margate to the north and Broadstairs in the middle.
Some areas seen from the Surfliner are of dunes higher than the train and right up next to it, some are of small towns, and some are big fields with distant foothills, like this one.
