A male cardinal waits upon the fence as his mate explores the hibiscus bush below him. Outside our window one day last week.

The daily bath, a clean bird is a happy, healthy bird.

All three views taken from a single photo.

Red-bellied Woodpeckers have periodically been inspecting this growing cavity in our tree. Last spring-summer it was occupied by Common House Sparrows. Fingers crossed these gorgeous woodpeckers will move in!

playing games with perception

A close-up view of modern buildings at night, revealing the intimate glimpses of illuminated rooms and offices, hinting at the pulse of life within.

Notice the shadow of the earth starting to appear behind the wing while this LH 744 is heading east into the night

From our hotel room, we had a great view of the spires of the Old Town of Warsaw. The Old Town is full of colorful buildings and cobblestone streets. Key landmarks include the Royal Castle, St. John's Cathedral, and the Market Square. During World War II, it was almost completely destroyed in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. However, the people of Warsaw were determined to restore their historic center. After the war, they rebuilt the Old Town, using old paintings and photographs as guides to recreate its original appearance. This incredible effort paid off, and the Old Town was eventually granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 1980, recognizing it as a symbol of the resilience and spirit of the Polish people. Oh, and for those wondering, the vivid Kodachrome colors are not due to additional Photoshop effort but come from the Leica M8 with a UV/IR cut filter in front of the Elmarit-M 1:2.8/28 ASPH. I just love the combination of this very old camera with this small but excellent piece of glass - Warsaw, Poland

Enjoying another fine dawn aloft as we rumble above a sea of stratus cloud obscuring the foothills of the Alps - while in the distance the first of the day's long rangers close the gap on us on their way to West Europe...

They say "Blue Monday" is the most depressing day of the year... "Blue Tuesday" however seems to be a far better deal! No room for gloom when you get to greet the dawn above the sleepy, anticyclonic Alps...

Both the Panorama and the Window are from PIxabay, all I had to do was join them together.

In thought this was a strange window, how do you close it. Then I realized it was a double, the inside windows slide together.

The window view from the plane over Italy.
