After formatting and rebuilt Windows XP on my old computer, I had forced to update its OS.. 81 items took me 30 minutes.

Nick Tosches of Vanity Fair spent a great deal of time and energy searching for the location where the "Autumn" image was taken. WIT: I stumbled upon this article when I was searching for local history about Courtcliff Park. I was surprised to learn that the laneway in question leads to the old Harris homestead in Kilbride, Ontario. After a heavy snow storm this weekend the sun finally came out. I ventured forth to find and photograph the location from a perspective similar to the original. The split rail fence on the right side is gone now (too bad). The homestead, I read, has been designated as a historical site.

Been using two new computers at work. For some reason the first time I tried to use my USB flash drive with either of these machines it decided to assign the flash drive a letter that was already in use. To make things worse Windows just silently fails. You plug the USB drive in and nothing happens. As if the USB drive and/or the USB socket are dead.
Easy to fix though. Just open Computer Management, go into Disk Management and change the drive letter of the flash drive. It will remember for next time.
Annoying though.

No special software as Style XP or Styler etc. Only windows native habilities and less OS resources with beautiful desktop (ofcouse, it's not Mac OSX jeje).
Download Win XP Royale Black Ms Style, unpack it to your's "windows\resources\themes" folder and double click on luna.msstyles.

Here is a single frame from 1 minute movie I did. Assembled with about 1,000 still shots, it shows viewers how to keep one's PC hard drive free of clutter by the use of the disk cleanup utility in Windows XP, and also how to clear of cache in Internet Explorer. It was submitted for an HP competition (Learn with a Twist). I would have liked to post the full video here but it was a little over the 90 second limit.

I'm not a Microsoft-hater, and I'm not a blind Macfanboy, but I have to say, something makes me cringe seeing that boot screen on Apple hardware.

I thought the DJ chick would go well with this obnoxious CD Art Display skin I have an odd attachment to...sorry, at work now and can't recal it's name. A few color tweaks to Arcs for Rainmeter, 10ftHUD and Enigma calendar kinda brought everything together.
Editing the Arcs config, I just now realized that all those bars are actually system stats! I had no idea...they're a little hard to get exact figures for on their own, so I included Enigma skins on top of the calendar for when I want a clearer reading. As usual, Desktop Coral reserves the right side of the screen for me when I maximze any window.

I dearly love my nearly seven-year-old iMac desktop computer with the obsolete operating system (OSX 10.2). It still works fine with the software I've got (and all my photos and data are backed up in case the hard drive finally gives out). But there is a lot of stuff it just won't run, including the latest version of Flash.
The iMac needs a helper, something to run more recent software, and something wireless I can use to download photos and post them on the internet when I travel. Something about the size of a small MacBook would be nice -- but even smaller and much less expensive would be great, something cheap enough not to have to worry about it on the road. My new Asus Eee PC 1000HE fits the bill. Sure, I'm just running Windows XP Home Edition, not OSX with whatever sleek animal extension Apple is giving them now, but I love it anyhow.

The disadvantage is my Facebook avatar ends up being an area from the left side profile image.

I have spent the past eight months as a highly trained, college-educated unemployed worker. Recently, I secured some 'temporary' work.
Here is one of the things I created while unemployed to inspire myself and motivate myself.
The "Blue Hills" image is a canned image that comes in the Picture Template folder of Microsoft's Windows XP.
Where I got the inspirational copy, I honestly don't remember. I just thought they weren't TOO corny and did provide me with some inspiration.
I've had Windows XP for just over a month (on a new PC) and this is the first time that it's crashed. I was running a remote Virus Scan from TrendMicro.com at the time and had my i-Pod plugged in. I was scared I'll admit it! PC seems okay now though but my perception of XP as being indestructible is now somewhat shaken. Hope it doesn't happen again. Anyone with any tips gratefully received.
