February Challenge Day 2: View from my window.

Oh how I suffer for my photography. I had to use a 30 second timer dash to get this. The major bummer was that our driveway is covered in bird poop. Damn Birds.

A window at the century old station house in Tungelsta. Today you will find Handlaget here. But the former Station Master still lives in an apartment on the second floor.

These recent images Rural Decay in Nova Scotia have got me delving into the archives revisiting some past excursions and some shots that have never seen the light of day. This window shot being one of them taken in December 2010. I had so much difficulty with this image largely due to the wonky window and boards, there was a ledge just above the window which I cropped as it made the image too top heavy, hence the window is now too near to the top for my liking really.

It is such a lovely view when the chestnuts in the park are in bloom. You don't fee like living in smalltown downtown

Who lives here or is it empty? The sign seems to say they don't live there any more!

Tavira, Portugal is a maze of little cobbled streets and curious doorways and windows most are sadly in need of a lot of TLC but it does add to the charm of this historic town.

I've always been a sucker for windows with shutters...

and yes, windows with shutters.... in addition to single digit addresses and scaffolding...among other things...

Arches National Park lies atop an underground salt bed called the “Paradox Formation” which is responsible for the arches, spires, balanced rocks, fins and eroded monoliths common throughout the park. The Paradox Formation was deposited over 300 million years ago when seas flowed into the region and eventually evaporated.

Over millions of years, the salt bed was covered with the residue of floods and winds as the oceans returned and evaporated again and again. Much of this debris was cemented into rock. At one time this overlying layer of rock may have been more than a mile thick.
