When I was a kid I got these wind–up toys: a boxing kangaroo, a ladybug, and a NASA shuttle. When we were in Japan in Epcot I discovered they sold the same exact ones! I bought a grasshopper to add to my collection; Brad got a cow.
A wind farm or wind park is a group of wind turbines in the same location used to produce energy. A large wind farm may consist of several hundred individual wind turbines and cover an extended area of hundreds of square miles, but the land between the turbines may be used for agricultural or other purposes. A wind farm can also be located offshore.

Research reported that thousand of bats and birds die every year hunting insects that are attracted to wind turbine colors. Typical color of white and light grey are deemed to be the most attractive. So why not paint it purple?.. Be so!.. Purple is pleasant to the eyes. It attracts not insects but “fans”. As it repels insects away, it saves bats and birds as well.

we are used to wind and the 'weather' being high up in West Yorkshire, but when it is SO windy is it so hard to sleep, as very noisy. Its like three layers of cloud, one low dense layer, wisps that shoot along by the force of the wind, and those that sit much higher up. 2014

Ontario is on the path of breaking the all time record for being the warmest December ever known. Just so happens this morning it was -12C (-19 with wind chill) but I couldn't resist the chance to shoot the recently rare sunrise before going home from work.

Trying to learn the new camera (Canon 6D). So far, I'm amazed. One of many practice shots, taken in a 20 mph wind at 1/3200 shutter speed. I'm a long way from Kansas :)
