In 1984, the Warwickshire County Wind Band toured Malta ... and had a whale of a time.
Just some physical evidence by some hydrangea, of the otherwise invisible displacement of air in our garden.

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
the summer wind came blowin' in
from across the sea
it lingered there to touch your hair
and walk with me
all summer long
we sang a song
and then we strolled that golden sand
two sweethearts and the summer wind

Aeolian, or wind-related process, have had an important role in sculpting many complex features on the surface of Mars. Even though Mars has only 6 one-thousandths of the atmospheric pressure of Earth, Mars carbon dioxide (CO2) atmosphere still produces winds of several hundreds of miles per hour. When these winds transport sand, they act as a powerful abrasive to erode rock outcrops into interesting shapes, such as these outcrops located north of Gusev Crater (Spirit Rover landing site). Here, winds have eroded linear grooves and other shapes, making outcrops that look like upturned hulls of boats. These are called yardangs, which have also been observed on Earth.

Family portrait at the top of one of the cliffs near Seaford. Very windy indeed. I think to remember we went up there to see some flights from the Eastbourne airshow. For more pictures taken in Summer 2007 go to our photo album.
Have you ever wondered what the West Texas wind looks like? This was left after the #LubbockBlizzard
Not all of the class is devoted to people portraits. And we're using a variety of media. This sketch is done with a water soluable BIC pen and a Niji waterbrush.
One of the great things about Niji waterbrushes is that they have a self-contained water supply: www.dickblick.com/products/niji-waterbrush/#photos
You can easily carry one with a pen and/or a few watercolor pencils and a sketch book and you're set to sketch wherever you are.
Wind power turbine for what used to be "the Power House", an interactive energy museum, which was supposed to have put a pretty face on the closed nuclear power plant in Zion Illinois. The Power House is long gone but this remains, on the lakefront, turning in the breeze.
Sorry about the poor quality of this pic, but it was scanned from a 6x4" print, which is all I have.
This mask was slightly cracked in the firing, and so I was able to keep it! I was pleased, because at the time I couldn't afford the luxury of not selling anything I made.
So I hung it outside the front door on the wall, were it lasted about a week before it vanished about noon one day!
I reported it to the police to get a crime number, and the next day I received a most interesting missive. The police only have a few fields in their lost and stolen property database: vehicles, valuables, money, animals, and other.
The letter commiserated on the theft of my 'other', and assured me that should my 'other' turn up, they would let me know!
It never did!
The wind mask is/was made of stoneware clay, coloured with iron oxide and fired to 1280C, in an electric kiln. It measured about 14" across.

A wind farm or wind park, also called a wind power station or wind power plant, is a group of wind turbines in the same location used to produce electricity. Wind farms vary in size from a small number of turbines to several hundred wind turbines covering an extensive area. Wind farms can be either onshore or offshore.
Because they require no fuel, wind farms have less impact on the environment than many other forms of power generation. Wind farms have, however, been criticized for their visual impact and impact on the landscape. Typically they need to be spread over more land than other power stations and need to be built in wild and rural areas, which can lead to "industrialization of the countryside", habitat loss, and a drop in tourism. Some critics claim that wind farms have adverse health effects, but most researchers consider these claims to be pseudoscience.
