Unfortunatley that patch of blue sky didn't last long with strong winds rushing down the lake and clouds pouring over from Wasdale.
Fluttering in the wind colorful ribbons and colorful kites at the festival of kites with happy people and children around
We are under a wind warning for later tonight...Going to take advantage of the weather now and sit outside for...hmmmm 'rest of the day' :)
'I wish we were desert winds...we would be tempestuous and bold and fierce and soft and hushed and roaring and cool and burning.
I wish we were the mystical emptiness...every being passing through would tell us how blessed we were to be empty and yet never barren.
I wish I was mad...then this mortal malaise would only be a fleeting sigh and every thought of you the reason for this joyful madness.' ~ Prabir C. Purkayastha.
An evening in winds over 100 miles/hour in the Mesquite Dunes of Death Valley. Totally alone.

The gentle sound of the wind-bell gives the cool. On the other hand, what will the sound of the cicada be aimed for?

We were in Newport to watch my oldest son run a half marathon this weekend. This morning on the beach, I found a sight I have never seen before...rows and rows of formations from the wind. Some looked just like space ships, others were spinning tops, mushrooms, pottery. It was quite a sight!!! and my son was first in his division! a fun weekend with my son, his wife and my two oldest grandkids. oh and my husband too!

The Canela Wind Power Park is one of the dozens of wind power parks placed aside to the Route 5 Norte, in the northern region of Coquimbo (between the cities of Santiago and La Serena, 472 Kms. by car from Santiago -5 hours-), creating fully renewable energy that Enel Green Power (owner of this facility) enters to the chilean electric grid system as part of the effort that Chile (between the Government and Private Companies) are doing for increase Non Conventional Renewable Power as part of their energy generation.

"At two o'clock in the morning, if you open your window and
listen,
You will hear the feet of the Wind that is going to call the sun.
And the trees in the shadow rustle, and the trees in the moonlight
glisten,
And though it is deep, dark night, you feel that the night is
done."
- Rudyard Kipling

“I became aware that there was no barrier between what was inside and what was outside. My body was illuminated by a bright light. I heard with my eyes and saw with my ears. I used my nose as mouth and my mouth as nose. I experienced the world with the totality of my senses as my spirit gathered and my form dissolved. There was no distinction between muscles and bones. My body stopped being heavy and I felt like a floating leaf. Without knowing it, I was being carried by the wind. Drifting here and there, I did not know whether I rode on the wind or the wind rode on me.”

This image was taken a few miles from my home. We are getting more and more windmills all the time. I think they are beautiful.
Thanks for your suggestions about my flickr account yesterday. I ended up signing in with my facebook account. I am still having a difficult time getting in touch with Yahoo about my account that's linked with flickr. I've been on the phone four times this morning, only to be disconnected due to high volume of calls. My e-mails are going unanswered, also due to high volume. What's frustrating is that I keep getting a message to reset my password. I cannot do this because my account is somehow linked to an account in the UK and the new password reset is being sent to that account and not my alternate e-mail. I'll keep working on this and in the meantime I thank all of you for your great suggestions and help!
I took a brief trip from Casper to the Wind River Canyon this afternoon to scope out potential photo opportunities and lighting angles, the first time in the gorge when I wasn't driving a truck (one sees much when driving trucks but their very size, especially when usually transporting oversized loads, renders most scenes impossible to shoot). I halfway hoped I'd be lucky enough to capture one of the infrequent BNSF trains negotiating the canyon on the Casper Subdivision but I saw nothing moving between Casper and Thermopolis today. It was still a pleasant afternoon with temperatures in the lower 60's but still a few patches from the recent snow in the shaded nooks. (11-1-2020)
This little male Eastern Amberwing Dragonfly was moving its wings, balancing in the wind on the crest of the dam today.
