Unfortunatley that patch of blue sky didn't last long with strong winds rushing down the lake and clouds pouring over from Wasdale.
Fluttering in the wind colorful ribbons and colorful kites at the festival of kites with happy people and children around
Back here again after one year, but same old weather. In fact, I was so amazed yet disappointed at how similar the conditions were. This time round, it is a little more windy which allowed me to try something different.
The first of my long exposures project on Dungeness beach. Fortunately the weather was near perfect with a strong wind to get the cloud movement. I used a 10 stop nd filter plus a 2 stop nd grad.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - The winds were whipping snow across the high country of the Cloud Peak Wilderness near Darton Peak.
We were in Newport to watch my oldest son run a half marathon this weekend. This morning on the beach, I found a sight I have never seen before...rows and rows of formations from the wind. Some looked just like space ships, others were spinning tops, mushrooms, pottery. It was quite a sight!!! and my son was first in his division! a fun weekend with my son, his wife and my two oldest grandkids. oh and my husband too!
AMT 75 is crossing over the partially frozen St-Lawrence river on its way to Candiac after making its station stop at Lasalle. With a strong wind blowing off the river, it was a very cold wait for the train (though thankfully not a long one).
The first atlantic storm of the winter hits Little Fistral beach, Newquay. Nikon fm and a Tokina zoom, everything saturated by driving rain and sea spray, 100mph gusts. Shot at f3.5 and 1/250 sec, developed in 1+100 rodinal for 2 hours. Reticulation, and happy accident scratches, negative damage all enthusiastically embraced, a keeper for me.
I took a brief trip from Casper to the Wind River Canyon this afternoon to scope out potential photo opportunities and lighting angles, the first time in the gorge when I wasn't driving a truck (one sees much when driving trucks but their very size, especially when usually transporting oversized loads, renders most scenes impossible to shoot). I halfway hoped I'd be lucky enough to capture one of the infrequent BNSF trains negotiating the canyon on the Casper Subdivision but I saw nothing moving between Casper and Thermopolis today. It was still a pleasant afternoon with temperatures in the lower 60's but still a few patches from the recent snow in the shaded nooks. (11-1-2020)

WIT
This fountain is located at our parliament. This Saturday morning a strong wind was blowing (lucky coincidence!) that heavily influenced the water streaming from it, resulting in nice patterns and water drops flying around. In post I cropped a bit, upped the color and used the "texture" and "dehaze" sliders.
