Fog over the Korana
A foggy winter morning by the Korana River.
An old willow stands like a silent guardian of the bank, fishermen remain patient in their quiet ritual, and the river reflects everything back without judgment.
On the eastern edge of Karlovac – the city of rivers and parks – the fog does not conceal.
It calms, simplifies, and allows the essential to remain visible.
Magla nad Koranom
Maglovito zimsko jutro uz rijeku Koranu.
Stara vrba stoji kao tihi čuvar obale, ribari u strpljenju koje se ne žuri, a rijeka – rijeka pamti i vraća sliku natrag.
Na istočnom rubu Karlovca, grada rijeka i parkova, magla ne skriva – ona smiruje.
U tom sivom miru ima više prisutnosti nego u mnogim sunčanim danima.

The Quiet Jetty by the Korana River
A small wooden jetty hidden in the shade of willows along the Korana River.
A traditional boat rests quietly, as if it knows there is no need to rush.
The winter sky brings a clear blue, mirrored softly in the river’s turquoise calm.
No wind, no noise — only silence connecting nature and humankind.
Not a conflict, but a coexistence shaped by those who truly live with the river.

Mali drveni mol skriven u sjeni vrba, uz obalu rijeke Korane.
Jedan tradicionalni čamac mirno čeka, kao da zna da nigdje ne treba žuriti.
Zimsko nebo donosi čistu plavetnilo, a rijeka ga prima u tirkiznom odrazu.
Nema vjetra, nema šuma — samo tišina koja povezuje prirodu i čovjeka.
Ne kao sukob, nego kao suživot onih koji znaju živjeti uz rijeku.

This Australian Darter (AKA snake bird) was looking fine sitting up among the new lush green growth of the willow trees lining the banks of the Murray River near Mannum in South Australia. Taken from on board the old paddle-wheeler Mayflower while cruising down the river from Mannum.

This was my second day at this location. The first day didn't pay off at all since there were too many clouds to the east. I was greeted that day with a grat and blue sky.
This day however was magical. Though you can't see it here, there was a dusting of snow on the peaks of the mountains, and the air was crisp and fresh. The lake was silent except for an occasional fish jumping out of the water. It was pretty cold, but that price of admission was completely worth the show the sun and mountain put on.

This photo was taken during a walk around a nearby lake early on Saturday morning. The blooming phase of the willow trees there is almost over already but they still show that touch of golden colour which they only have at this time of year. I add another capture in the comments which shows the same tree from a different angle.
This squirrel came very close when waiting for some peanuts, then it jumped on the willowtree and I tried to come close to it - which it tolerated :-))

I don't have to drive far to this location and I often pass by there on photo trips. In moods like the one above, a picture is always needed every now and then, whether with or without sheep. .
