The Wilder Kaiser region is the first alpine area to bear the Austrian hiking seal of approval. The Kaiser villages of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll in the "Kaisergebirge" nature conservation area are also a part of the biggest E-Bike region in the world!

Wild horse life can be rough on a tiny little filly. This filly is the tiniest foal I have ever seen. Her mom was pretty young when she had her and her mom is still little herself. As I watched her with this new foal, she went to her own mother and nursed, and then her new foal came up and nursed at the same time. 😳 It threw me and wasn’t something I had ever seen. This little filly was so tired and stood in her moms mane to make sure she didn’t get left behind when she fell asleep.

Two Tier Wedding Cake -
For many insects, this is a dream come true. A prominent oyster mushroom immobilized on a log and marked for a feast. The hump-backed flies, thrips and fungus gnats were there before me and they were crazy over the big piece of cake. Assembling on soft tender caps, the flies were gorging themselves silly. For me, flies-laden cakes are most unappetizing so I swat those pesky insects away. Heeling to smell like a truffle connoisseur, besides a faint whiff of earthy aroma I probably inhale the spores as well. Me consuming a shroom and experiencing it’s magic? Palatable looking it might seem, prancing around in an intoxicated manner doesn’t seem a good idea to me.
Poppies have long been used as a symbol of sleep, peace, and death: Sleep because the opium extracted from them is a sedative, and death because of the common blood-red color of the red poppy in particular. In Greek and Roman myths, poppies were used as offerings to the dead. Poppies used as emblems on tombstones symbolize eternal sleep.

A Large Hare sneaks up behind me in The New Forest.
This was a shock to me. I was laid down waiting for a pheasant to pop his head up for a good 15 minutes. I randomly glance over my shoulder to see this enormous Hare sneaking up on me.
As this was the first time i've ever seen a wild Hare, I was in a bit of a hurry and I made a VERY rookie mistake that nearly cost me dearly.
The Pheasant had been in much brighter, direct sunlight. Upon turning to snap a shot of the frozen Hare, (that was in MUCH lower light due to trees covering the road), I lowered my shutter speed FAR too much rather than opting to open up on my Aperture!
The result - one sharp shot out of 15 before the Hare bolted down the road. Lesson learned! - view more at www.photography-prints.co.uk
