They were everywhere along the lake bank in very overgrown areas...I wanted to pick some, but remembered Mum's warning-Snake Food!
So just let them have them, and me some pix!
This wild turkey is happy that he survived Thanksgiving. I read that 48 million turkeys were eaten on Thanksgiving day. I guess Thanksgiving is not a happy holiday for turkeys
Blooming wild apricot is of the same meaning for Central Asia as Sakura for Japan. It starts to bloom at the end of March - beginning of April, first among all fruit trees, representing the beginning of Spring
The wild Chincoteague ponies are a famous herd of small, sturdy horses that roam freely on Assateague Island, which spans the coasts of Virginia and Maryland. Believed to be descendants of shipwrecked Spanish horses from the 1600s, these ponies have adapted to the harsh coastal environment, surviving on marsh grasses and fresh water. Each summer, they capture public attention during the annual Pony Swim, where the herd is rounded up and some are auctioned to manage the population. This tradition, maintained by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, helps preserve the health of the herd and supports the local community.
I've also had it called Indian Strawberry - I'll let you decide.
