While visiting Echo Bluffs State Park we were discussing the wild horse herd and wondered if we would see them. After leaving the park and traveling south on highway 19 around a curve and there they were, grazing in a pasture on the side of the road. Only problem the road had NO shoulder and there were cars behind me so i could slow down but not stop. So we slowly drove down the hill and found a side road which went right by the grazing horses. I could stop here and shoot away without fear of being rear ended. So nice to see these after hearing about them for so long.
On one of the banks of the River Alvor, Portugal, there are many wonderful wild plants. These are almonds - quite unlike the way we usually see them, still in their natural state. The day was beautiful, and the place was deserted, Wonderful.....
Can a wild horse be a lifer? I kept hearing about and seeing photos of wild horses so when my new friend Rick asked if I wanted to go look for some my response was an enthusiastic yes! We headed north and west out of Las Vegas into the desert towards Cold Creek. We turned off the highway and as we went farther up the terrain changed from sparse desert to Joshua trees to eventually coniferous forest. This handsome wild horse was one of the first two we saw. They were near a small stream and they ended up drinking from the cool. clear water. What an experience! Stay wild and free, my friend! We even saw a herd of elk which really surprised me.
Thanks for your views and comments - they are much appreciated!

Last week in the Amerongse bovenpolder (upper polder). Wonderful weather. While observing the Konik Horses, these two decided to give an exhibition on quarreling.
I just could keep them within the frame.
At least we think it's a crabapple. It grew here on its own, and every year it has a big crop of little "apples" the size of a marble.
I was pleased with these shots, since the bokeh is way better than I'm usually able to get.

A view of the final part of Cofete, a very remote and wild beach in southern part of Fuerteventura. A thick shroud of clouds had covered the island for a long time, then finally a weak warm light has embraced this wild wonder
