I couldn't resist photographing this guy and playing with a new technique for black & white conversion that I created.

It was held at Edgbaston Cricket Stadium.
In appalling light it is tempting to keep the camera in its case. After all it's likely just another class50 at best. However as it happens this is I think the only pairing of 50's in different liveries actually on a train.
50038 'Formidable' and 50013 'Agincourt' arrive at Oxford from the capital in November 1983. Both locos are refurbished 50038 in November 1980 and 50013 in June 1980 but did not receive Large Logo livery until September 1984.

In memory of Baby Tristan, Baby Thomas( my cousin) and for all those who have lost a baby.
Today 17 babies will die, the tragic victims of stillbirth or neonatal death. This is a statistic that is seeing no signs of decreasing, and behind each number is a family rocked to the foundations by the death of their baby.
This shocking figure, the loss of 6,500 babies every year, is something the public is not generally aware of. Most people think stillbirths don’t happen in the 21st century. Yet stillbirth in the UK is 10 times more common than cot death.
At Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, we feel this number of deaths is totally unacceptable. We have launched the Why17? campaign to raise awareness of this devastating loss and to ask the question:
“Why are 17 babies a day dying and what can be done to halt this national tragedy?”

Why do they look so ad even when they have a mouthful of eels? Shooting 90 degrees into harsh light makes for some hotspots but I like the eel eyes!

It's not as though I needed another skirt in this style, but I did like the look of it and so thought, why not? ;-)
This is no exaggeration: Every time I look at this pic, I laugh.
I don't really know why. But then, there are some other details that maybe help:
I clicked @ this fly while testing a 1250mm lens/fixed F15 - from about twenty five feet away. No crop.
It's such a piece of shit, but I love it.
Also, I had just got the fly in focus, then he flew off...a few seconds later, he returned a little closer (exact same slightly goofy/straight on stance). Maybe that's why it's so funny? But still, there's something else.

Why is a mild-tempered person often referred to as a pansy? I find that pansies are quite resilient little flowers. In fact, they can withstand a lot. The pansy reminds me of what the Good Book says about love. It states "love bears up under anything." I don't know about you but I want to be a pansy. You might be thinking that I am crazy. I assure you that I just may be! But, I think that you are a fan of my craziness! :)
