This image looks north-west from above the Tasman Sea into the Dee Why Headland area. In the lower left of the image is the 25m North Curl Curl rock pool (with permanent large rock feature in the middle of it!). Man-made intervention in its construction has been minimal and wildswimmingaustralia.com describes it as the most natural-feeling man-made pool their reporter had ever swum in.
Further round in the bay on the left a set of concrete steps can be seen leading up to a sheltered building. It houses the North Curl Curl Life Saving Club.
The Dee Why Headland extends off to the north (right above). It is a sensitive coastal ecosystem, providing an important wildlife corridor between Curl Curl (to the south) and Dee Why Lagoons (to the north). The rugged sandstone headland boasts spectacular views south to Manly and north to beyond Long Reef.
Beyond the northern end of the Headland sits Dee Why Lagoon, which makes up some 40% of the Dee Why Wildlife Refuge, an extremely significant area for local and migratory birds (from afar as Japan and China). The rest of the Refuge is made up primarily of swamp-based bushland, but also includes the coastal dunes that separate the lagoon from the sea.
Atop the headland and reaching inland are the northern Sydney suburbs of North Curl Curl and Dee Why, with a combined population of some 26,000 people. They sit some 18 km north-east of Sydney's central business district and the world-famous harbour.
I was aboard a DHC-2 Beaver floatplane flying north en route to the Palm Beach Water Airport on an afternoon flight. As you can see from the sunlight angle, from a photographic perspective the views would be better during a morning flight north with the sun behind you. Stay the day and the afternoon return flight is inland and you get great views over the coastal communities to the sea.

Early this morning, I was out shooting backlit crabapple and Rhody pics and saw that my ONE AND ONLY Fritilliaria meleagris, had produced TWO little blooms but they were still not illuminated by the sunshine- so I came in to wait a few minutes. When next I checked, the LEAVES and STEM were in the sun- but NO FLOWERS!!!! It was either a VERY fast rabbit OR a squirrel or chipmunk. I'm betting on either of the latter two! Anyway, when I went out to look- there were the two blooms, face up, partially nibbled - ON THE GROUND!!!! WHY?? If they were hungry, I guess I could understand. This happens EVERY spring! Grrrr!!!
Why.....ll
My heart goes out to the very brave courageous Ukrainian people, who are an example to us all. You have captured the hearts of many something that can't be taken away. l pray for peace and harmony soon. Stay safe !! 🌻🌞🙏🙏
You talk about being lonely but you never were alone.
You just got to clear your mind.
Why must it be some big mystery?
Tell me, why can't it just be alright?
Another day shot from Saturday. The colours where amazing, a little taste of summer. Can't wait to expand my day shot portfolio this season.
Enjoy your week.

Because it is my passion, I like to photograph and portray what I see and what I think. And in the daily kaos we live to be able to pause and photograph something that is there and that nobody sees it, only our photographer's eye. I love taking pictures and editing my photos and always looking beyond and thinking in photo mode. Thanks to my family that understands my passion for the photo. Greetings to all!!!!!!!!
That previous photo had me strolling down memory lane. Dogs are wise in many ways--and one of the best is that they stay in the Here and Now. I remind myself of that when I feel worried that she must have wondered, worried, why I never came back for her. If I had to cast an actress to play the part of my dogs--I'd choose Kate Hepburn to play the recently departed Sadie. Una--Goldie Hawn.
Why not ! : o ) A local gift shop sells all kinds of Harry Potter related stuff. When I saw this poster, I thought of Arachtober ! Sorry about the weird angle, I was trying to avoid the reflection from a ghastly flouresent tube. A fun shot for Arachtober 28.

Hallo,
Markus

In memory of baby eve x
Today 17 babies will die, the tragic victims of stillbirth or neonatal death. This is a statistic that is seeing no signs of decreasing, and behind each number is a family rocked to the foundations by the death of their baby.
This shocking figure, the loss of 6,500 babies every year, is something the public is not generally aware of. Most people think stillbirths don’t happen in the 21st century. Yet stillbirth in the UK is 10 times more common than cot death.
At Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, we feel this number of deaths is totally unacceptable. We have launched the Why17? campaign to raise awareness of this devastating loss and to ask the question:
“Why are 17 babies a day dying and what can be done to halt this national tragedy?”
“I just want to raise awareness of stillbirth. I had no idea that this could happen to me

Yes, this is another outtake. Going through files before I put them on my external...
Why I took it was because she's adorable. This is my cat Marie, I enjoyed this photo because of how close up it was. Composition up close and rule of thirds. I deserve an A.

Why Worry- Dire Straits 🎵💜
Baby, I see this world has made you sad
Some people can be bad
The things they do, the things they say
But baby, I'll wipe away those bitter tears
I'll chase away those restless fears
And turn your blue skies into gray
Why worry
There should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now
Why worry now
Baby, when I get down I turn to you
And you make sense of what I do
And though it isn't hard to say
But baby, just when this world seems mean and cold
Our love comes shining red and gold
And all the rest is by the way
Why worry
There should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now
Why worry now
Never turn your back to life.
I enjoy taking photos and contemplate on them. I took this simple photo and had some good lessons from it.
Believe it or not, I found out the secret of happiness that a lot of people are desperately looking for.
Always consider the bounties you have. Never think of those you don't.
Nobody has it all in this life. Some people have the money. However they are so sick that they cannot enjoy it.
Some other people may enjoy perfect health but they are sad because they think that money is happiness.
Appreciating what you have and forgetting the things you don't make you happy.
Please contemplate on the following saying of Propjet Muhammed (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him)
On the authority of Abu Abbas Abdullah bin Abbas, one of the companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
One day I was behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) [riding on the same mount] and he said, “O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, then ask Allah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah [alone]. And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”
Another narration reads: Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. Recognize and acknowledge Allah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will remember you in times of adversity. And know that what has passed you by [and you have failed to attain] was not going to befall you, and what has befallen you was not going to pass you by. And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and hardship with ease.
