I don't know the technical name for these weeds that have little powderball heads and blow away to propagate another.
So this is just a simple image of a smoking egg box.S soon I'll have a few others, maybe more successful and with varying edits, however this will do until then.
sometimes when watching, you can spot a formation with some potential, often forming too fast.
i leave these as nature created, no pp except for cropping.
The last whisp of sunset fades just as the near-full moon rises to provide most of the light for this scene.
This weekend, I got a little whisp of Boston when Isa, Mukunda and Bota visited. It was all too short but it was such a welcome reunion. I got to take them out and about in the city, and got to explore some nearby National Parks with them. I miss them even more now than I did before. But seeing a friendly face put in perspective how much Sydney has become home to me these past 4 months and I have to say it feels good to know I know this city well enough to give tours now.
Here's to more adventures abroad with fellow Northeastern students...
About 200 frames taken... a grand total of 3 photographs turned out! This was meant to be far easier, at least it was in my head when I was setting it all up but nothing is ever that simple is it? I love this effect when I've seen it on things in the past and decided since today wasn't the best for getting out and taking pics that I'd make the most of the opportunity to do something indoors.
I read somewhere that incense sticks made the best kind of smoke for this... rubbish! Now unless we have some dud incense in our house there was definitely not much smoke coming out of those things. Next I tried a match and that wasn't much good either with a feeble little bit of smoke coming off in one little patch and that was it.
Eventually I got my tripod set up, found a decent candle, set up a dark enough background to let the smoke stand out and got a few frames where I managed to take the photograph and then remotely fire the flash (no cable either, see what I mean about how hard this was!) at the same time to get this and just another couple of decent frames.
I think this was probably the hardest I've ever had to work for one of my photo diary pictures!
Late afternoon when the sky wrestles with threatening cloud and a setting sun on the foreshore at Belmont on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales on the east coast of Australia.

A nocturnal Lightpainting Tour with my Dad, it was his first time :)
The woods are very spooky at night, guess there were also some wild boars around :D
These fellows tried to lead us the wrong way, deeper into the forest. We decided to rather capture them on a picture than following them.

I actually did a couple dandelions but this turned out the best, and I'm not even sure it's really a dandelion. The whisps of real dandelions are so fine the paper wasn't catching them. They did catch the whisps of the seeds on this though, feathery and delicate.
Frühling
Frühling ist wiedergekommen. Die Erde
ist wie ein Kind, das Gedichte weiß;
Viele, oh viele ...
Rainer Maria Rilke
