When and how! Stop saying I can't and say "let me try"

Domani ci rivediamo.

If you have some ideas to realize some photos, you say. I will meet Martina tomorrow again.

Everything Gets hotter when the sun goes down. This season Texas Motor Speedway introduced a night race for the Sprint Cup. We've had Nationwide, the truck series and IRL all racing under the lights but no Sprint. It was nice. I hope they keep it this way.

Enjoy The Church Choir as they add a little mood music to today's photo.

It rains a lot where I live in England and although it's less wet in Sri Lanka, when it rains -- it pours.

On an otherwise sunny day on the beach at Hikkaduwa the clouds rolled in for a spectacular display of tropical rain and lightning in the evening. By morning it was sunny clear and warm again. Perfect!

"But everytime you're there, I'm begging you to stay

When you come close, I just tremble"

Only Love Can Hurt Like This - Paloma Faith

...All we knew for decades is spoken - thousand promises have been broken

Rub out leafs of trials - empty lines

Feel that our force is mistaken - see how our future is shaken

Wipe it off our eyes - clear our minds

See now what we left behind! Passively - it wasn't enough we tried!

Why did we wait though we knew inside? Did we fail?

Now, we always took it for granted - start when it already has ended

Pour out lots of wine - crush the ice

Fields, our lands are gutted by fire - miles of dirt and hatred grow higher

Drink our glass of wine - taste our lies

Not eternal, not for sale, not a gift to throw away - and when the leafs fall down

Not our places, not our life, not our room we vandalize - when the leafs fall down

Not self-evident, not due, not a passing rendez-vous - when the leafs fall down

Not a game and not so weak, irreplaceably unique - when the leafs fall down...

When you stand at these crossings in New York City you can feel the energy coming from it and streaming through your body and soul. It´s so energizing to be in NYC. Thats what I want to show in this photo.

1967 Shelby GT500

When you enter the realm of American muscle cars, it does not get any better than the 1967 Shelby GT500, and when you lay your eyes on this very example it has a level of restoration to concours standard to match.

Built at San Jose, California, on 5 April 1967. It was finished, as it appears today, in Nightmist Blue with a knitted black fabric Décor interior, an extra-cooling package, courtesy lights, a fold-down rear seat, power steering, front disc brakes, and a heavy-duty battery.

It has an exemplary history file, two comprehensive photographic restoration folders and a Deluxe Marti report to add to the provenance of such a vehicle.

Restored by the UK’s leading specialist Alan Faulkner-Stevens, to concours condition, complete with original body panels. Restored regardless of costs exceeding over £100,000 for the rebuild. Signed and documented by Mr Carroll Shelby himself, this cars stands in better condition than new.

The car retains its original engine, intake, distributor, and correct-type Holley carburettors. Furthermore, the engine has been upgraded with a stroker crankshaft and a connecting rod kit to increase capacity to 462 cubic inches. A dynamometer report on file attests to the increased horsepower and torque.

Features include:

437 bhp, 462 cu. in. OHV Interceptor V-8 engine.

front and rear heavy-duty suspension.

power front disc and rear drum brakes.

Correct four-speed transmission and axle assembly and all of the rare Shelby fiberglass parts.

Correct steering wheel, gauges, and aluminium wheels.

Upgraded wiring and lights from the original specification, with turn signals being subtly fitted.

Full history file and report.

Multiple publications on magazines, known throughout the Shelby fraternity to be the very best there is!

I have been looking for years as to how to make a decent looking Pantograph Shoe and was never happy with what I had seen or could do. The other day when going through a wardrobe looking for something a box of my daughters Belville collection fell, the parts spilt everywhere on the floor. When I was picking up the parts I picked up one of these www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=42013 and thought wow that looks really useful, I then scratched around for another. For years I had pretty much ignored Belville parts due to them being oversized and useless but this time I found a perfect part for a hard to model subject.

Credit goes to Taiki (Namo-Den) for his Pantograph design which I have altered by using the Belville iceskates for the pickup shoes.

When I was a kid, 60 or 65 years ago, these were called Dandy Longlegs. By the time I reached high-school, I knew that a lot of my friends preferred Daddy Longlegs, and some friends were adamant that the only "real" name was crane fly. For the most part, I gave in.

But I've gone back to calling them Dandy Longlegs. Reclaiming the authenticity of my childhood, like.

This was the first I saw this season. It was inside a plastic tent we overnight plants in. I suspect the higher temperature in there awoke this guy.

During the Jazz Age:

LaVern: "I just about had gotten to bed to put a close to this bad day when I heard Daisy come in. She had gone to a party to see David. I stopped for what I thought would be a quick good night--BIG MISTAKE."

Daisy said she had "history-making news":

Daisy: "I'm getting married...to Prince Edward..."

LaVern: "Yeah, Daize, me, too. Then, we're moving to Mars."

Inspired of one of my contacts here on flickr, who makes fantasy images from real photos, I fiddled a little with on of my photos and came up with this result. If you gaze up on the sky, perhaps someone gaze back at you. The truth is out there ;) /A

When there is a break in the rain it gets frantic and crowded and noisy at the water. Everyone's fluffy underfeathers have gotten a little grubby as they’ve hunkered down and waited out the rain, and keeping feathers in top shape is essential for survival and good health.

When you watch iconic Star Wars (1980) on a big screen on a snowy night… W E L L... It can't get more New York City than that! ♥️

I checked for tickets on Monday. They were sold out. I figured that it was possible that everyone who had bought tickets would come! People cancel. I checked 7 days back-to-back. Today at 4:20 PM, I was able to purchase! Nothing is impossible, I guess!

When I pulled up shoot X33891-03 cresting the grade at Dyersville, IA I had to feel for this guy. I've pulled off the road a couple times in the winter expecting there to be a shoulder under the nice even snow only to get stuck. My sorrow quickly went away and I decided to use his truck as a prop. Is it spring yet?

Daniella Macias as Pocahontas

Dani really wants to do Pocahontas because they both have a share of love and connection with animals, so here she is!

This photo was inspired by how awesome Pocahontas looked when she was confronted by John Smith at the waterfalls. Now take that and stick her in the forest.

In the photo, you can also find Meeko and Flit.

It was also extremely awkward shooting this with the huge number of unnessecary people at the location when only my crew and a few others can be there.

But it still turned out awesome, even with that huge spider by Dani.

When I went to Saint Martin's....

Oh No! that was a Pulp tune, that actually played on the radio when this picture was taken... in the 1990's, yes that good old time, I really miss it... anyhow!

This is a picture of one of my best friends Sue, she was just a friend when the picture was taken, a friend and classmate, the picture was taken on her birthday in The Park in Malmö, Sweden where we studied...

we were about 25 when we started but by every week someone stopped comming to school, at the end of the course we were very few still remaining...

...as you can see on our graduation groupie pic that I have published here earlier...

...spontanious we were dividin in to groups... those who had studied art and theater earlier, Sue, Dennis, Milla, Madde and Gumpe

The small all male group: Me, Mathew and Andrew

The all Girl Group: Christine, Susanne and (Sometimes Krivanek when she was not in her darkroom)...

Off cause all these groups socialized and spoke to each others, especially as time whent by...

So what does this got to do with this picture...

Well this photo was taken when I was out photographing with my old systematic camera in the park...

There I ran in to familiar faces, Milla, Sue, Dennis and Madde, they celebrated Sue's birthday so it was spring she and I am both Aries...

This was the first time I socialized with these people outside school, since I joined there celebration and it was also the first Time I met Milla's (then) boyfriend Jimi, their Friends Erik S. and Goldie...

Later on after our art studies we could remain friends and would spend loads of time on cafés, parties and clubs...

Especially Sue and I was very close before she went abroad to study english in the Uk. where she fell in love in a fellow Student Jean-Marc, no she lives in Paris and an is a mother and still togeter with Jean-Mackan (as we called him)... I still hate my self that I didn't manage to meet her when I was in Paris a few years ago ...

But before we where the almost coinjoined dynamic duo at any party, we were the two always looking for an after-party after the disco and when we where not on the café we would hang on the telephone talking about nothing and everything... We had many great times! Thank you Sue!

Soon it is you Birthday Sue! I know that since you have the exact same birthday as my mum... So happy 50 years soon, since we are two 76:er

It may look warm, but it isn't, at all. By that time it was as cold as -40 in some parts of Sweden. In Sundborn, where we celebrated Christmas, it was about -27.

It may be why I'm so ill now, I dunno. I had a very high fever recently, and now my throath is a disaster. So, I'm going to visit a doctor tomorrow to see if it's streptococci. Not sure of what I wish it is.. just want to get better so I can get outside again and photograph (: then comment your beautiful streams.

I apologise for being so slow with comments this year, though I'm not sure if I can get any better with it next year, when it feels as I will get even more busy. But I want to thank you all, for your support, your warm and wonderful personalities and care, and for your different views of things. And of course for your kind comments and for sharing your part of the world. (: You all are awesome, and I hope you'll have a superb 2011! (:

Happy New Year! (if I wont get well until afterwards.)

PS: Keep yourselves warm (:

I love this picture. Shot it in the back yard when I got a new lens one day. She was still a lot younger - all eyes!

When Edward Weaver was arrested on April 12, 1949, the police wrote “complaint of wife” on his charge sheet. But what does that mean?

In the court report columns in small-town newspapers in 1949, “complaint of wife” is attached to a variety of lousy husbands’ crimes and misdemeanours. Sometimes, it meant abandonment; sometimes it meant that a man had refused a job that would enable him to support his family; sometimes it involved excessive drinking. In the case of a Modesto man called Leon Mathis, it meant “raising a rumpus” and “running around the house with a loaded shotgun”.

Mostly, of course, it was a euphemism for wife beating, which appears to have been dealt with in the courts as a breach of the peace or an incident of disorder. It’s quite horrifying to think that the reason why these men -- hundreds of them that year alone -- were charged with a crime that carried only a light maximum sentence rather than with assault, which could have got them locked up for a good long stretch, was that the victims of their crimes were their wives. Break a stranger's nose and you'll be hearing from the county; break your wife's nose and, well, that's your business. That says a lot about the authorities' high regard for the sacred institution of marriage, and just as much about their low regard for women.

So, what about Edward Weaver? Was he guilty of failing to provide for his family? Of drunkenness? Of desertion?

As I said, the statistics suggest that he was a wife beater, and isn’t there something about those two pictures of him that might lead you to agree? Wives of abusers often describe their husbands as being Jekyll and Hyde characters, capable of being charming one moment and brutally violent the next, and it just might be possible to see some hint of that split personality in these two shots. From the side, he's handsome in a Robert Mitchum-like way, but face on -- whether it's because of his pale-eyed stare or that petulant set to his mouth -- there's undeniably something just plain mean about him.

It's a mistake to read too much into snapshot photographs but, in this case, I think we’re on fairly safe ground.

Mary Elizabeth Weaver was granted a divorce from Edward on October 14, 1953.

My little red friend always spends his little "house" when it's hot!

Based on a true situation, this sculpture seemed to be saying STAY AWAY to the big red man sculpture. Everything turned out all right because neither of the sculptures came any closer.

This week: Semmering region, south of Vienna, a elite summer retreat of the upper class in the 19th century, has grown in popularity when the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage railway developed the region, connecting Vienna southbound towards Trieste and the Mediterranean. Beautiful landscapes at the eastern slopes of the Alps and the vintage architecture provide a broad photographic spectrum.
