This is my entry to Round 5 of MELO over on the MOCpages! This is the part of the Lay of Beren and Luthien where Haun the hound of Valinor and Luthien of Doriath come to Tol-in-Gaurhoth (Isle of Werewolves) to save Beren from Sauron. This MOC depicts the battle of Haun and Sauron. Enjoy!

Well, you know, werewolves are my favorite mystical creatures after dragons, so of course, it was just a question of time when I finally make a tribute to Ruby Lucas aka Red Riding Hood from "Once Upon a Time" TV series (this is my sixth tribute to the series, here is the previous one). :) Yes, we will see her in the human form too, I just thought that it's been a very long time since I used big wolves for my pictures instead of wolf headed minifigures (in 2021 and 2022), and I wanted to show the big wolf again, cause she's gorgeous! :D There were not much scenes with Ruby in a wolf form, but this was the best one, though it was short. What can be better than to put a werewolf in a poppy field in Oz to save Dorothy?
Long story short, and I will try to avoid major spoilers. So, Ruby is a grown up Red Riding Hood, her mother and granny are werewolves too. She wears a red cloak which prevents her from turning into a wolf, and she can control her ability (in the first season she couldn't yet, so she was banished from her village). She is a big friend of Snow White (Mary Margaret), and she used to work at her granny's diner when fairy-tale characters were magically sent to Storybrooke. But she didn't feel that she belongs there, so in later seasons she travelled across different realms in the search of her wolf pack.
In season 5 she went to Oz, where in the Episode 18 "Ruby Slippers" she met Mulan and then grown up Dorothy Gale, the nemesis of Zelena the Wicked Witch. Zelena took Dorothy's dog Toto, because she refused to gave her the silver slippers. Mulan suggested to brew a sleeping potion to put the witch to sleep, and she needed poppies for it. Ruby and Dorothy went to the famous field, but Zelena's flying monkeys attacked them, so the only way to reach the forest before the monkeys was to run on four legs. :) Well, that's it, everything else is spoilers!
I really wanted to build the Deadly Poppy Field for a long time, because I have some amount of red flower parts for it. :) The scene happened in the night time, so it was quite a challenge to make it look darker without losing the color. I hope you like the scene!
I saw a Wrentit drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. And his hair was perfect. Ah-hoo-ooo Wrentits of Inceville.
My long-awaited 13 Wishes Howleen doll arrived this morning. I've decided to make her my sig Howleen's twin sister, Scarlett. Here they are together.
Now I'm just waiting on a couple of others that are in the mail, including Heath! I'm currently on the hunt for I <3 Fashion Scarah. She's at the top of my want list.

This was shot this morning at 6:30. Sunset was 6:22. I got up at 5:45 and skipped the hotel breakfast to shoot this. It was a 25 minute drive and had to walk 10 min through a dark forest fighting bears and werewolves.
Was it worth it? Well... the floor and the needle should have been lit with blue LEDs but it was darkAF. It is what it is. I like the red/ purple/ yellow horizon glow of the early morning. Reminds me of the Transformers Autobots logo.

The past few days have been cold, foggy and there's been a full moon out. Guess this is the right time to imagine that there are werewolves about :)

The Wolf Pack loves playing games together and it can get highly competitive. Clawdia laughs as Clawdeen celebrates the move that brings down Clawd and Howleen. Time for a rematch!

Day 6: Beyond the treaty Line!..... Second Beach, La Push, Washington.
Over the next wee while I'm in danger of boring you to death with shots from this location. At the start of our holiday we didn't know where we were going to finish, we'd thought about the North Cascades but in the end we returned to La Push, one of our favorite areas from our journey and we were glad we did because we were treated to the most spectacular and moving sunset enhanced by this magical setting. This however is a shot from our first visit and I hope when I get around to posting the ones from the second visit that they will do it justice, but for the time being watch out for the Vampires.
The walk from this beach takes about 20-30 minutes through pitch black rainforest.... and I mean black, not black like we get in the UK, where there is always some kind of light even if only from stars. Not here, this is like walking through a mine... scary, especially when you're not used to a countryside with Bears, Cougars, Vampires and Werewolves!

1795 Musée des Augustins is one of the oldest museums in the country and in the world. The place was being renovated and lots of rooms were closed and the entrance price was adjusted accordingly. Reopening in 2023. There was a Théodule Ribot exhibition which was good.
Day Twenty-Seven:
Werewolves can be bald. Who said they had to be all over hairy? You know what that leads to? Matting of fur and things getting stuck in it. Nasty things. Icky things. Mostly the remains of dinner. But once that stuff dries, it's never coming out.
No. I'm not. I'm not one of those sucking things. I eat, I don't suck. I...I...I need to watch how I word things. Yes, I have the big teeth and the sharp claws, but look. I can step out in the sunshine. I don't. But if I wanted to, I could. I can have garlic. I am not averse to bathing in a holy jacuzzi. I am basically superior to those foppish night walkers.
There is the whole silver thing, but who can afford silver these days? Yeah, it's not a dog's life being what I am. I sleep all day, eat who I want, it's a cat's life. Though I was kind of hoping for the hair. That would have been handy. A nice side parting. Maybe a quiff.
Wonder if I can get an all-over toupee?
