This part of the road on the way to my favourite winter fishing destination is when the anticipation starts to build......
Thankfully on this day i wasn't the driver so i could try and take a shot that somehow conveys the journey of us anglers on tour.
Plus we did have some good sport despite a bit of colour in the water at the start of the day. Just love fishing for Grayling one of these days i will manage a photo that captures this species of fish that lives in our fast flowing streams......
Just a week or so ago I ventured into the woods in search of werewolves. I did not find any. But the orange was abundant and the smell of danger was ever present.

Berlin dwellers, beware... because tonight is not like any other night. Tonight the creatures of the night will meet for their first World Congress, the WCDCEN (World Congress of the Dark Creatures of the Eternal Night) held in – Berlin. So better stay at home, lock your doors, close your windows, draw the curtains, and make absolutely sure that the lights will never go out in your house this night... For the harsh, ear-splitting shriek you've heard above you in the sky on your hasty walk home didn't belong to a crow. And the enormous, hunched, ragged and shaggy shadow you've spotted from the corner of your eye wasn't your sloppy neighbour walking his dog...
OK, a clumsy attempt at writing a scary introduction to this image ;) I simply started too late with writing it today, and I wanted to upload this image before midnight CET (and originally I'd only wanted to describe the sliding steps for this image – as far as I remember them – anyway). Just that much: The hotel the WCDCEN has booked for this special night is no other than the seat of the German Government, the Reichstag building in Berlin's Tiergarten (=animal garden) district. One of Germany's largest public gardens of the same name, the Tiergarten park, lies right across the famous "hotel" – and that park is a place one should avoid at night by all means even during normal nights. Well, as I've learned from insider circles, there were some quarrels among the participants beforehand,
because Count Dracula, for instance, is said to have claimed the entire west wing for himself ("This hovel is smaller than the doghouse in front of my castle!") and the vampires allegedly had refused to move into the same floor as the werewolves ("Their bloodcurdling screeching is poison for our sensitive ears!" vs. "Their enormous shedding during their transformation is abominable, the hair is simply everywhere!"). As it seems, creatures of the night are merely humans, too.
This is an image that simply had to be slid for Sliderssunday. Because on the day I had taken it there only had been a boring blue, blue, nothing but blue sky, and my POV had not been exactly aligned, either, it was slightly off-centre. I still liked it, somehow, but never quite knew how to present it in an interesting way; until a few weeks ago, when I stumbled upon it in LR once again, and decided to see how I could jazz it up with all those nice tools that Luminar 4 offers, such as "Sky Replacement" (the clouds), or "Augmented Sky" (the moon and the birds). I also added some drama in ON1 with a texture ("Dirty Screen"), some "Grunge", and cranked up the LR sliders for structure and clarity. Slid to the Max for Halloween :)

Berliner, nehmt Euch in Acht... denn heute Nacht ist keine Nacht wie jede andere. Denn das hohe Kreischen, das Ihr auf dem eiligen Heimweg über Euch am Abendhimmel gehört habt, stammte nicht von einer Krähe. Und der gekrümmte, zottelige Schatten, den Ihr aus dem Augenwinkel wahrgenommen habt, war nicht Euer Nachbar, der den Hund ausgeführt hat... Heute Nacht treffen sich im Zentrum der Stadt die Kreaturen der Nacht zum WKDKEN (dem "Ersten Weltkongress der dunklen Kreaturen der Ewigen Nacht"). Bleibt also besser daheim, verrammelt die Haustüren, schließt Eure Fenster, zieht die Vorhänge zu und passt auf, dass die gesamte Nacht über das Licht an ist. Der WKDKEN findet natürlich nicht in irgendeinem Business-Hotel statt, sondern im repräsentativsten "Hotel" der Stadt, dem Reichstagsgebäude. Wie aus Insider-Kreisen zu erfahren war, soll es allerdings bereits im Vorfeld einige Querelen gegeben haben, weil Graf Dracula partout den gesamten Westflügel für sich beansprucht haben soll ("Diese Bruchbude ist ja kleiner als die Hundehütte vor meinem Schloss!") und die Vampire sich geweigert haben sollen, dasselbe Stockwerk wie die Werwölfe zu beziehen ("Ihr markerschütterndes Gekreische ist Gift für unsere empfindlichen Ohren!" vs. "Die haaren immer so fürchterlich während ihrer Verwandlung, diese Flusen sind einfach überall!"). Wie es scheint, sind die Kreaturen der Nacht eben auch bloß Menschen.
Dieses Foto war ein klarer Fall für den Sliders Sunday. Am Tag der Aufnahme war der Himmel ausschließlich: blau. Langweilig. Und das Foto von der Seite des Reichstagsgebäudes war auch nicht sauber ausgerichtet. Trotzdem mochte ich das Bild irgendwie und habe immer auf eine Idee gehofft, wie ich es präsentieren könnte. Kürzlich bin ich mal wieder über das Foto gestolpert und habe gleich an die schönen kleinen "Helferlein" in Luminar 4 gedacht :) Langweiliger Himmel? Da gibt es doch das "Sky Replacement". Ein bisschen Zusatzstimmung gefällig? Man nehme den Mond und die Vögel (nein, das sind Vampire) vom "Augmented Sky". In ON1 habe ich dann noch den "Grunge"-Filter angepasst, eine Textur ("Dirty Screen") hinzugefügt und in LR die Regler für Struktur und Klarheit auf Anschlag gedreht – fertig war das "Gruselbild" für Halloween.

They say “Feet of clay” is an expression now commonly used to refer to a weakness or character flaw but in Aliano this is not an expression of the people that live here but of the land they live on. The feeling of an alien landscape is a common one for visitors here, the rolling landscape is made of clay which has shaped by the wind and water to make a set of badlands to be envied by most desserts.
THE Calanchi di Aliano are a cathedral of solitude, white walls, silence and emptiness are on offer as you walk , hike, bike or horseback ride through this lunar landscape. One of the best trails to discover this wonderfully weird world is the “Santarcangiolese”, the peasant witch you can imagine the moonlight casting the landscape into a magical land full of fantastic legends about brigands, fairies, werewolves and witches wandering through this terrain.
Aliano sits a high rise of sand surrounded by hills of clay making the resulting views from the village a wonder of pyramids, white clay gorges all interspersed with the verdant greens olive and citrus groves. All of this highly erodible land makes for poor foundations which a fairly recent earthquake in the 1980’s has proven in the town and they are still rebuilding a lot of the older buildings back to what they once were.

In folklore, garlic has been regarded as a force for both good and evil. In Europe, many cultures have used garlic for protection or white magic, perhaps owing to its reputation in folk medicine. Central European folk beliefs considered garlic a powerful ward against demons, werewolves, and vampires. To ward off vampires, garlic could be worn, hung in windows, or rubbed on chimneys and keyholes.

Monkshood flowers (Aconitum columbianum) emerge among the false hellebore (Veratrum californicum) in a subalpine wetland, just below Notch Mountain in the Sawatch Range in central Colorado. Both of these plants are chemically defended against herbivores with potent toxic alkaloids. Monkshood roots are particularly dangerous, and poison from a European species was used by the Romans on their spears and arrows, as well as a deterrent for werewolves (and real wolves- thus another common name is wolfsbane).

I've always wanted to use this collector coin for an MM theme, and the "Superstition" theme gave me another opportunity. My dad used to give me special edition coins for collecting, usually 5 or 10 Deutsche Mark (DM) pieces that were (and still are, but now as Euro, of course) issued for special anniversaries or in honour of important personalities. This is one of the coins. I'm keeping it in my wallet as a good luck charm, and whenever I change the wallet, the coin comes along.
There is nothing superstitious about the theme of the coin itself: a 10 DM silver (werewolves, anyone?) coin, issued for the 150th anniversary of the now worldwide operating Kolpingwerk, a Catholic Charity founded by Adolph Kolping (Kolping was a German shoemaker and later a clergyman who had originally initiated it in the mid-1800s as a journeyman union to improve the working conditions of apprentices), but the mere fact that it's a good luck charm makes it an ideal candidate for "Superstition", and there is also a quite funny story connected to it.
Ages ago, when I visited a street party with friends, we went to a shop to buy some water bottles (ever since, I've long come to always bring a home-filled bottle along to spare me the hassle of buying on the go), and I didn't have any coins in my purse other than this 10 DM coin. I hesitated to use it, but then thought, "Come on, don't be superstitious, it's time to let go", so I paid for my bottle of water with it. And instantly regretted it, but again thought, "don't be silly, it's just a coin". Of course, I kept vigorously discussing it in my mind ("No, it's not just a coin, it's extra special"), and after we had been walking for a while, I decided to ask my friends to lend me some money, ran to the shop, felt even sillier than before, but what matters is: I got the coin back ;)
To emphasise the illusion of superstitions, I placed the coin on the "warped" mirror tile (fixated with modelling clay) and focused mainly on the distorted reflection. In the coin's design, there is also a triangle: a symbol that is not only perceived as holy but is also connected to the secret society of the Illuminati, about which myths and conspiracy theories persist to this day; so I tried to highlight it.
Size info: The coin's diameter is 3 cm/1,18 inches.

Although this particular image may look like something from a horror movie, rest assured, Bressand's Farm is a perfectly normal Provençal farmhouse and is (to the best of my knowledge) free from vampires, werewolves, and zombies.
This photo - taken in Saint Michel L'Observatoire one misty late afternoon in December - seemed an ideal candidate for the dark, moody, and mysterious 'black and white treatment'.
In addition, as it is a little different from most of the other photographs I have taken this year, I have used it as my entry to 'Your Best Shot 2023' in the rather grandly named Fine Art category.

This dude was not into being photographed and I hope I never see him again. Crazy horns, crazed eyes and just his presence put the fear of God into me. It all started with me trying to take a nice photograph of his cute little offspring, he calmly walked up and put his powerful frame in front of me and his offspring and then slowly turned his head and stared at me. I knew I was down on my luck after that bold statement. I think Warren Zevon was inspired to write "Werewolves of London" after seeing this beast. Some have crossed my path and touched my heart in a positive manner, he was not one of them. Oh, by the way buster; put your tongue back in your mouth. If I wasn't flawed enough, I had to meet this cat!

Taking its name from the 19th-century publications of the same name, penny dreadfuls, and inspired by Alan Moore's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the series intertwines the origins of horror characters such as Victor Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, Dr. Jekyll, Count Dracula, werewolves, witches and vampires, all of whom grapple with their monstrous alienation in Victorian London.
Finally I can show my great wolf pack! xD This is my tribute to the masterpiece animation film "WolfWalkers"! A rather rare example of werewolves portraying as good and even friendly. It's based on Ireland myths, so those werewolves are different - they are humans while awake, but their spirits leave the body in the wolf form when they're asleep, so they're called the wolfwalkers.
The film takes place during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland, so the ruthless invader Lord Protector wants to exterminate all the wolves (unfortunately, this part is based on real events). He sends for an English hunter Bill Goodfellowe, who arrives in Kilkenny (by the way, this is where the studio which drew this film is based) with his daughter Robyn, who doesn't want to be a maidservant (unfortunately, there weren't much options for women in those times), she rather wants to be a hunter like her father, and she even has a suitable pet - a hunting falcon Merlyn.
Her father can't capture any wolves despite making lots of traps, and locals believe that it's because the pack of wolves is lead not by a wolf, but a wolfwalker. Of course, Bill doesn't believe this, but he wants to protect his daughter from the dangers of the forest, so he forbids her to follow him there. Obviously, she wants to help him and sneaks out anyway. :) Then she meets the forest girl Mebh, first in human form, then as a wolf, and they became friends. Robyn learns that it's true that the pack is lead by a wolfwalker - Mebh's mother, but she is missed - she fell asleep to search for a new place for the pack to live, and she didn't awake for days. Robyn agrees to help Mebh find her mother, so the wolf pack could leave the forest, as they intended anyway.
I won't spoil what happens next, but this is the best film of the independent studio Cartoon Saloon which made "The Secret of Kells" and "Song of the Sea". I think everybody should watch it, it's very beautiful and a rare modern example of traditional animation, and this studio has an unique style. And yes, I like it better than "Princess Mononoke". :)
Yes, I bought a lot of wolves from resellers (as for the beast masters, I have only three), because I wanted a big pack. I wanted to make the scene look like the one on the main poster in which Robyn and Mebh ride on a wolf surrounded by the pack, but those Lego wolves are certainly not for riding, especially with the short legs, so just pretend that they're riding, okay? :) Also I'm glad that I found that log, though I was afraid that someone's dog (they walk them in the forest) may run towards me and knock down my precious minifigures and they may fall in the pit under that log, where I may not be able to retrieve them, but luckily for me the first dog owner showed up only when I already packed up my minifigures, so no one fell anywhere.
I will reply to the comments under previous picture and to other notifications a bit later. Thank you to everyone who wrote something to me, I will be very happy when I'll return to reply, but right now I'm a bit too tired. :)

Here, magic is a weapon : I protect, I defend, and no creature will escape its judgment. 🐺💥

I'm running away with my pack again. I'm finding the things in SL that I used to find fun and entertaining. I'm rebuilding my family in Bloodlines which I've not kept close enough with for years. Some which have moved on, some are gone from this realm, but I'm slowly waking up my favourites and collecting new friends along the way. So much has happened since I've been super slumbering and playing in deep space.
