"We're all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when you find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love, true love." —Robert Fulghum

NS GP38-2 5337 leads a bottle train into Lakefront yard in East Chicago, IL as the sun burns through lake effect fog.
Haven't seen these before. They're not much to look at from the top but the way the sunlight hit them made them look pretty cool from below.
Tengger Caldera in East Java, Indonesia.
The perfectly shaped volcano in the foreground is Mount Batok (2,440 m). The steaming crater of Bromo Volcano (2,329 m) is partially visible behind Mount Batok. Morning mist covers Segara Wedi, the so-called "Sea of Sands".
Many thanks for your visits / comments / faves!
kinda weird picture, don't know what to think... some comments would be interesting. turn my 3 stop ND grad Cokin filter upside down for this shot.
Trametes versicolor – also known as Coriolus versicolor and Polyporus versicolor – is a common polypore mushroom found throughout the world. Owing to its shape being similar to that of a wild turkey's tail feathers, T. versicolor is most commonly referred to as turkey tail.
these shells are everywhere .. i stepped on them by mistake .. and hurt myself :(
but ... sob7an allah they are so nice to watch at .. and great details :D
A challenge from gnarlydog ... the first of us to get their silly TV lens to work! ... to be honest, I've not won ... I just hotglued my Cosmicar 75mm TV lens to a c-mount adapter and used a 6 volt battery to open the iris (it closes when you move around)
Anyways ... I got dozens of really interesting shots ... the setup is all wrong ... I need to move the lens closer or further from the sensor, which isn't going to happen without some serious tinkering!
Most of my shots were taken in Hembury Woods near Buckfastleigh. :D
Oh ... btw, the weird bokeh is caused by a darkened spot on the rear lens, I guess some kind of polarising ... but, I am guessing! ...
... also ... the lens is here ... scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/15016261_18059453730...

Take a few seconds to take a look at this image. Can you feel the weirdness in your eyes?
The forest is called Ghost Wood (Gespensterwald) by the locals.
I think that something needs to be weird
in order to have real beauty.

I took this for a bit of fun and to try something I'd seen others do. I set my lens to 70mm and as I took the photo I zoomed out. I took a few shots trying to get the timing right. In the end I was happy with the result. I like that it perceives lots of
movement within the frame, when in fact I and everything else was almost completely stationary.
