Well the grand plans fell through but my son loves to hide in this space of my daughters new desk. I figured it was a fun way to get a good photo of him without to many complaints.

This demonstrates the 'sweet spot' focus quite well.

And to think, people pay a fortune for a LensBaby™.

Australian Huntsman spiders belong to the Family Sparassidae (formerly Heteropodidae) and are famed as being the hairy so-called 'tarantulas' on house walls that terrify people by scuttling out from behind curtains.

Huntsman spiders are large, long-legged spiders.. They are mostly grey to brown, sometimes with banded legs. Many huntsman spiders, especially Delena (the flattest), and including Isopeda, Isopedella and Holconia, have rather flattened bodies adapted for living in narrow spaces under loose bark or rock crevices. This is aided by their legs which, instead of bending vertically in relation to the body, have the joints twisted so that they spread out forwards and laterally in crab-like fashion ('giant crab spiders'). Both Brown (Heteropoda) and Badge (Neosparassus) Huntsman spiders have less flattened bodies. Brown Huntsman (Heteropoda species) spiders are patterned in motley brown, white and black.

I feel that this might be a Brown Huntsman.

7 Days of Shooting –

Week #32 (w/b 14 February) Love or Loathe - This week kicks off with Valentines Day, so all you love bugs will have no problem with this week’s Theme! Hearts and roses and little kisses might be right for you but you might just loathe all that mushy lovey dovey time so how will you interpret the love thang?!

Not to be liking to get down and close for this shot.

This was taken in Châtelus Malvaleix, which is our area Commune head. I went there to the Trésor Public to pay our water bill (we're not yet connected up to the well!) and had a walk round this mediaeval town taking shots for 7 DOS Architectural week.

This should have been close enough to qualify as Macro, I think. (If not, I'll try again when I get home.)

The City Chambers stands in George Square, Glasgow and above the entrance is this lovely sculpted detail .... the construction of the building began in 1882 and was completed in 1888.

Stay Safe and Healthy Everyone!

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... Thanks to you all!

A portrait of my husband...

Me: Okay, I need to take a portrait this week: Roger: And I'm it?" Me: Yup... Roger: "Oh dear... we've got a problem..." Oh it will be okay!

I waited until the last minute and really didn't have any good ideas. I grabbed Molly and thought I would get some shots of her running around the yard, but all she would do is tip-toe carefully because the dried grass hurts her little feet :( Not great, but it's all I've got for this week.
