Weekly Theme: In Motion
Week #32
Taken August 11, 2013
Title: Approach
Notes: Well sadly we had the best subject for this theme last Sunday when we got to visit the Rhinebeck Aerodrome in NY for a WWI style airshow. Alas the dates would not align in our favor. However, with a bit of the plane bug still in our systems, we headed down to the North East Philadelphia Airport with our fellow photographer and pilot, Tom. We spent the early afternoon watching small planes take off and land at a couple locations around the airport. The shot above is my alternate shot for this week's theme taken at the end of the runway where the planes come in for landing.
First day at Assembly '09 demoparty. This was a quick snapshot I took of a friend but accidentally it came out quite good so I'll select this as this day's photo.
A Archer Art "Re-Treat" of a film still of a space station exterier shot from the Fix Network sci-fi TV series "Firefly" directed by Joss Whedon adapted for a CD "rec-cover" for "Pimk Moon" by Nick Drake.

My friend Sina, is an excellent Photographer. We chose to be a little more
artistic with my second pregnancy. I think we accomplished this.
Long and luscious grass growing locally that I came across during my walk, this afternoon!

Neighbour Ali returning home..a view on traditional country life..
or call this my kind of irony..I was on holiday during the theme of week 32,
followed the Olympic news on TV before the vacation,
and read a bit in the newspaper over there because I was interested what our countrymen were doin'..
this Turkish country farmer lives a very simple life..doesn't bother about tourists or
what's goin' on in the world, or Turkey, doesn't even say hello when we passed him..
to show the relativity of the fuzz about the Olympic games..
Belgium ended with 3 medals despite lots of talented athletes in our theme..

Joe and I are going to the British Virgin Islands! He's wanted to go there for what seems like forever and I can't wait to get out of the snow. Excited! Of course, we are both procrastinators so packing...well it will get done eventually. ;)
My parents had to put down our family dog, Toby, yesterday. We got him when I was a sophomore in high school. He was a great dog and will be terribly missed. He had a long, happy life and provided me with some great memories. Like the time I was painting my bedroom and I looked down to find him drinking the paint...he was about 6 months old. He looked up at me and had a light green snout...it was pretty funny. He never got sick from it though...tough dog he was. He used to sleep on the door of the dishwasher if it was left down...not sure what that was all about. I will miss you Tobs. XO

I went to the garden thinking I might be able to show something triangular with the 6 petals of a day lily and to my surprise, the throat of my Chicago Apache day lily was a lovely yellow triangle. I selected a filter in windows 10 editing that gave the richest texture to the shot and turned down the light to increase the texture of the petals. Slight cropping to allow background petals of the Black Eyed Susan to share her triangles and the tip of an unopened day lily to provide another triangle. Comments welcome.

Friday Photos 2012 [Week 32: Dreams]
A few of MANY films which use the trope or device of "dream"...or do they?
Glass
So...not only did I get a new body, I also got a new piece of glass this week...anyone know what this bad boy is?
I'm not into the Olympics so I wasn't sure what to do but this picture of the flag felt right to me.... Since I'm from the USA
Taken for "7 Days of Shooting" Week#32 "Architectural Details"
I spotted this wonderful old doorway during my stroll round Châtelus Malvaleix when I went to pay the water bill. It looks like the date carved in the centre of the fan above the door says 1174 but it could also be, and is more probably 1574...still VERY old and in remarkable nick!
The doorway is in a narrow, tall lane, hence the crap lighting!
Doesn't every office have a box like this? Cables we don't have the nerve to throw away because we might need them ... but we won't!
7DoS "Mess and Mayhem" "Black and White Wednesday"
A thought struck me today, as I was stuck in traffic in Snowdonia and looking for a different route. I hadn't remembered to take a self portrait for this week's topic in '52 Themes 2009'. So, purely so as not to miss a week, I took a shot of myself there and then.
Now, what's the next topic? - must be more organised ...
