Prepped and ready to go in the LowePro Photo Trekker. The only thing missing in this shot is the D700, 35mm 1.8, MacBook Pro (for on-site backups), and the tripod (just in case). Shooting Jess and Josh's wedding on Saturday and their rehearsal dinner tomorrow night. Since I'm not going to have time to prep tomorrow, I'm going through my preflight checklist now. I'm sure other wedding photographers have much different setups, but this is what I use and it's gotten me great results.

For me, planning is everything. Even if the events unfold completely off track of your plan, you have some stability knowing that you put the steps together to tackle any problem. Plan for the unpredictable, and the unpredictable will usually reward you with awesome photos.

front of this one. This is my second favorite dress i tried on. And yes somewhere ther's a picture where i'm not trying to smooth the stripes.

I really love the ribbon stripes along the bottom though. Stunning, yet simple.

Two of my work colleagues chose to get married on the Talyllyn Railway, would’ve been rude not to have driven the train for them. The resplendent Corris coach is ready and awaits propelling to Wharf to greet the happy couple and their guests.

Stocking up our wedding booze at Costco. Decent selection, and we managed to trim our alcohol budget by a third. Score.

So I got the main large rose bush all trimmed back and cleaned up under - now need to do some planting of little flowers and Lets not talk about the lawn. That's going to be fixed later!!!

I didn't expect to like this dress as much as i did but the back was really lovely even with the really long train. I love the lace accents on everything.

It was ivory not white which was odd but it looked really lovely with my skin. I just don't think ivory would match anything else we picked out thus far though.

While I got the rose bush trimmed hubs really trimmed back the palms and it looks so nice. I also removed the 2' high weeds in that planter ;D The rains have made it so easy to pull them out!!!

In preparing for the wedding day I was able to spend some much needed alone time with my wife. As she stood in front of the bedroom window overlooking Istanbul, arranging supplies and decorations for the bride who would soon be getting ready, I decided to take this photograph.

My dearest Leah - she is my best friend and my long term partner in crime (the legal kinds); she is the supporter and financial arranger; the humour and the sass. She is my wife, and I am so very proud of her. Here's to a year and six months of marriage. May we have many more.
