I shot this photo last December when I was out around the Polygon Gallery with my Sweetie-Pie Joanne @Joannewhitephotography. The late aftenoon light was beautiful, and so low on the horizon. It was streaming through the windows of The Polygon Gallery.
Suddenly, a newlywed couple burst through the doors of The Polygon. I was there with my Hasselblad, waiting for a moment like this. There was no time for critical focus, I just gave it my best shot, and I was very happy with the results. This is one of the things I love the most about candid street photography, when something like this just unfolds in one quick, fleeting moment. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
while gathering with the group at the meeting point just outside of union station, we noticed there was a wedding party taking photos. what was great was their very classical style... i don't normally say this but this would be a wedding i would loved to have photographed. and the photographer was cool in that he told the group of us 60 photographers to take our own shots too... he didn't have to ask me twice!
i finally was able to find the official photographer of this wedding when a friend of his found my picture and pointed me towards his website. apparently it was done by duke photography who did an amazing job of giving a vintage look to scott and belinda's wedding which of course suited since there outfits were of the classical sense. please visit his blog and search for "belinda + scott's wedding at union station" to see his pic. he even mentions us amatuers there!

When we returned to Huang Shan International Hotel in Tunxi City, a wedding party was just getting underway.
And that is it for Tunxi City. We are going to the Yellow Mountain tomorrow.

I was supposed to perform this couple's wedding last year, while the groom was incarcerated. The prison messed up the paperwork and then denied the couple's wedding request. Happily, Willie was released this year at the beginning of April, so he was able to wed Michele as a free man! I was honored and delighted to preside over their nuptials at their home. :-)

This wonderful commission is for a wedding later this month in Chicago. They are honoured Studio Ghibli, who made Spirited Away (in which No Face is a character) and My Neighbour Totoro.
I have sanded and varnished these sculptures which create a lovely smooth matt finish, almost like soapstone.

'Something borrowed, something blue' may be the tradition at weddings but in this case the 'something blue' was the bride, who was rapidly turning into a Smurf.
A wedding couple chose windswept Brancaster Beach (4deg C, 20-25 mph winds) for a photo shoot after their wedding today December 20, 2014.
She was cuddling up to him and trying to keep warm while the photographers were trying to remain upright in difficult conditions.
