Climbing down a steep path from the Hojack Trail to this old railroad bridge, this is what comes into view.
Sunset on March 14, 2014. Two days after the blizzard it made it to the mid 50s. The Lake Ontario shoreline is covered in a deep layer of ice from a long cold winter.
I've always wanted to get shots of dragonflies, but have never had the opportunity (or patience). This one is actually a damselfly (Calopteryx maculata) and was unusually sedentary and I managed to get a shot or two. I got very close to it, and then couldn't get my P&S to go into "macro" mode! D'oh. Oh well.
I think the shirt I received is so cute. My official time was 42:50 for a little over 3 miles - not great - not awful. Next time I'll do better.
