This is the last of 6 evenings of firework for 2014. A 25% opacity layer of a previous shot taken at the late blue hour has been merged to punch a bit the usual black sky.

Not much to say about this one ... whatever this couple was smiling about, it certainly put them in a good mood.

When you say "New York City," most people think of Times Square, or the Empire State Building, or the crowded sidewalks and the skyscrapers in mid-town, or Wall Street, or the ill-fated World Trade Center. Maybe Central Park will come to mind, but most people don't realize that New Yorkers know lots of places to relax, and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air ...
... like Carl Schurz Park, over by the East River on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, stretching from 90th Street down to about 84th Street. In addition to flower gardens, dog runs, basketball courts, playgrounds, and grassy knolls for sunbathing, there is also a wide promenade where cyclists, roller-skaters, dog-walkers, lovers, joggers, parents, children, and any of the other millions of citizens of this city can stroll along at whatever pace suits them best. Some sit at benches along the edge of the river, staring at the roiling water caused by the swift current down the East River; others nod and smile as they watch sailboats, motorboats, yachts, barges, tour-boats, and barges ply their way up and down the river.
One thing's for certain, though: everyone enjoys Carl Schurz Park. It's one of New York's little secrets ...

Inspired by this card heroarts.com/cardmaking/cardIdea.cfm?cardID=3015. When I saw the vellum and white embossing, I knew I just had to make it!
Comparing the last four Tiana Classic 12'' Dolls by the Disney Store, released in the years 2010 through 2013. Collage of images from the US Disney Store website.
The new Tiana doll for 2013 is almost identical to the 2012 doll, except for a few small changes, and the change in her legs (which is not visible in these photos). Her hairdo reverts back to the afro style that the 2011 doll sported, with 3 side curls rather than the 4 of the 2012 doll. Her white gloves are missing, and the green gem in her flower is replaced with a yellow one. It is hard to tell from the stock photos, but her white satin dress seems to be less shiny. I think all the changes are steps backwards, and prefer the 2012 model.
The other major change is the replacement of the fully articulated legs with the old rubber legs, with fixed angled feet and internal knee joints. I would rather that they fixed the problems with the 2012 legs, but the rubber legs do look a lot better, with the disadvantage of being much less posable.
Not shown here is the redesigned box art, which has beautiful decorations unique to each Princess, and a cameo of the animated movie character.
Comparing the Disney Store's Classic Princess 12'' Dolls, released from the years 2010 through 2013.
Major feature changes in each year:
2010 - Elbow and wrist joints
2011 - Deluxe Sparkle Gowns
2012 - Knee and ankle joints on hard plastic legs
2013 - More movie accurate; return to rubber legs of 2011 and earlier models
Each year also brought changes in their prices, faces and heads, hair style and length, outfits, jewelry and other accessories.

Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally (Ford Escort Mk2), Nottinghamshire, England
Hey everyone again last week was a bit surreal in terms of Flickr as I managed to get 4 or 5 of my images into Flickr Explore. Not quite sure how as they were old images, I think it was due to my latest image before this one getting into Explore and viewers checking out my older uploads which caused them to get into Explore. Explore does remain a mystery to me lol but thank you to you all last week, as always it does mean a lot to me that you all take the time to visit and comment on my photos, I thank you.
Anyway, this photo was from the Dukeries Rally up in Sherwood Forest in Nottingham. I met up with fellow Flickr and Twitterers James, Mark and Chris and what a really enjoyable day it was, top guys :-).
Be sure to check out their stunning photostreams :-)
This type of photography is not my normal type of photography but I am really getting into it. This is my second ever rally I have been too but I have learnt that it can be a quite challenging type of photography due to the fast nature of the sport but I persevered and got this.
This photo was me messing around with my panning technique and can assure you there is no Photoshop trickery in this one, this was completely handheld pan as the car sped around the corner, it was a little bit of trial and error but it was quite hard to do at shutter speeds as slow os 1/30s. Not quite as sharp as I would have liked it due to the f-stop I had to use but I like the sense of speed it creates. I originally cropped it at 16:9 but felt it had too much else going on around the car so cropped it square (1:1) and feel this works a lot better, what do you think?
As per usual any constructive criticism is always welcome :-)

Information
The squarer-styled Mark II version appeared in January 1975. The first production models had rolled off the production lines on 2 December 1974.
Unlike the first Escort (which was developed by Ford of Britain), the second generation was developed jointly between the UK and Ford of Germany. Codenamed "Brenda" during its development, it used the same mechanical componentss as the Mark I. The 950 cc engine was still offered in Italy where the smaller engine attracted tax advantages, but in the other larger European markets in Europe it was unavailable. The estate and van versions used the same panelwork as the Mark I, but with the Mark II front end and interior. The car used a revised underbody, which had in fact been introduced as a running change during the last six months of the life of the Mark I.
This car made a point, with just four body styles, of competing in many different market niches where rival manufacturers had either multiple model ranges or simply none at all. "L" and "GL" models (2-door, 4-door, estate) were in the mainstream private sector, the "Sport", "RSMexico", and "RS2000" in the performance market, the "Ghia" (2-door, 4-door) for an untapped small car luxury market, and "base / Popular" models for the bottom end. Panel-van versions catered to the commercial sector.
During the second half of the 1970s, the Escort continued to prove hugely popular with buyers in Britain and other parts of Europe.
A cosmetic update was given in 1978, with L models gaining the square headlights (previously exclusive to the GL and Ghia variants) and there was an upgrade in interior and exterior specification for some models. Underneath a wider front track was given.
In 1979 and 1980 three special edition Escorts were launched the Linnet, Harrier and Goldcrest.
Production, after an incredibly popular model run, ended in Britain in August 1980, other countries following soon after.

Hello everyone~
Just wanted to check in with you all and let you all know that we've just undergone a little bit of a New Years cleanup on the website (which has now been invaded by fluffbeasts!)
The care section has been reworked and everything has just generally had a bit of an early Spring Clean.
We will be integrating the store into this site so that everything is in one place but I'm still in the process of moving my personal blog there.
In terms of our first few days of January, we've managed to get all but 4 larger orders out (those four are going tomorrow) and finished off a few things before starting on the Rainbow, Honey and Fire Blend preorder wigs in the next day or two.
We're waiting on our dye order to dye tons of black ready for the petrol blends and the Opals will be made around the same time as those.
We're not announcing it officially yet but just a heads up that from the 11th-31st we'll be hosting a contest. Information about that is over on the website but the winner will receive a 100% custom wig in their choice of colours, size and fibre from any of our current styles available!
Hope you guys are off to a good start this year and I'm looking forward to February when we'll be having more pre-made wigs for a special Valentine's sale and a pre-order for some other popular blends featured in the Winter Sale c:
