The Royal Museum for Central Africa (RMCA) is an ethnographical and natural history museum in Tervuren, just outside Brussels, Belgium. It was first built to show off King Leopold II's Congo Free State for the 1897 World Exhibition. It focuses mainly on Congo, Belgium's former colony. The sphere of influence however (especially regarding to biological research) extends to the whole Congo River basin, Middle Africa, East Africa and West Africa, but tries to integrate Africa as a whole. First purely intended as a colonial museum, after 1960 it became more focused on ethnography and anthropology. Like in most museums, there is a research department and a public exhibit department. Not all research is pertaining to Africa, for example the research on the archaeozoology of Sagalassos. Some researchers have strong ties with the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences.
History
After the Congo Free State was recognized by the Berlin Conference of 1884-1885, King Léopold II decided he had to show the potential of the country in an exhibition. Economic investors had to be attracted and the public had to know this faraway country better. After considering other places, the king decided to have the exhibition in his royal estate at Tervuren. When the 1897 International Exposition was held in Brussels, a colonial section was built in Tervuren with two new transport connections to Brussels city centre, the Avenue de Tervuren and the tramway line. The 44 tram line (Brussels-Tervuren) was built at the same time as the original museum by King Leopold II of Belgium to bring the visitors from the 1897 World Exhibition to the exhibition of the Congo in Tervuren. The colonial section was hosted in the Palace of the Colonies (although there was only the one colony). It was designed by the Belgian architect Albert-Philippe Aldophe. In the main hall Georges Hobé designed a distinctive wooden Art Nouveau structure to evoke the forest, using Bilinga wood, an African tree. The exhibition displayed ethnographic objects, stuffed animals and in the "Hall of the Great Cultures" Congo's most important export products were displayed: coffee, cacao and tobacco. In the park, a copy of an African village was built, in which 60 Africans lived. The exposition was a huge success.
In 1898 the Palace of the Colonies became the Musée du Congo, and now the exhibits became permanent. It was then that the scientific research really took off. But due to the avid collecting of the scientists, the collection soon grew too large for the museum and enlargement was needed. Léopold II saw it big: he wanted not only an Africa Museum but also Chinese and Japanese pavilions, a congress centre, a World School and so forth. Tervuren became a rich suburb of Brussels. The new museum started construction in 1904 by the French architect Charles Girault in neoclassical "palace" architecture, reminiscent of Petit Palais, with large gardens extending into the Tervuren Forest, a part of the Sonian Forest. It was officially opened by King Albert I in 1910 and named The Museum of the Belgian Congo. In 1952 the adjective "Royal" was added. In 1957, for Expo '58, a large building was constructed to receive African personnel: the Centre d'Accueil du Personnel Africain (CAPA). In 1960 the museum had its name changed to The Royal Museum for Central Africa.
At present, the RMCA is struggling with modernisation. Some call it "a museum of a museum", as it shows how a museum looked like in the mid-twentieth century. For example, Expo '58 still showed a harmonious Belgian-Congolese relationship, while the country stood on the brink of independence. A more modern exhibition "The Memory of Congo" (February 4, 2005 - October 9, 2005), tried to tell the whole truth of what happened in the Congo Free State before it became Belgium's colony, a very sensitive subject in Belgium. It was put on after The Guardian reported in July 2002 that, after initial outrage by Belgian historians over King Leopold's Ghost by Adam Hochschild, the state-funded museum would finance an investigation into Hochschild's allegations. The investigatory panel, headed by Professor Jean-Luc Vellut, reported its findings in 2004. The exhibit based on them was set up the following year.
Critical of the museum was Adam Hochschild again, author of King Leopold's Ghost, who wrote an article for the New York Review of Books purporting to show 'distortions and evasions' in the special 2005 exhibition.

From EAA Website:
The Red Devils aircraft are Pitts Special biplanes designed by Curtis Pitts. In a two-part article in Sport Aviation, May 1973, Tom Poberezny wrote about this aircraft and Curtis Pitts.
In the article, there is mention of a film, “We Came to Win.” This was a documentary done on the U.S. victory at the 7th World Aerobatic Championships. In the film there is a taped interview with Curtis Pitts. Read what he had to say about his design.
“It’s an old fashioned airplane, using the engineering knowledge that we’ve had since back in the mid-20’s. We’ve tried to keep it light, and in doing this we’ve tried to keep it small. We’ve tried to keep a good horse-power-to-weight ratio. We’ve tried to keep it clean enough to where it didn’t completely poop-out on the up-lines. And that’s just about the substance of making a good aerobatic airplane.”
The original design of the Pitts Special was actually started in 1942 with the intent of building a good performing, low-powered aircraft, for use in aerobatics exclusively. Powered by a 55-hp Lycoming engine, the original Pitts Special made its maiden flight in 1945 with Curtis at the controls. The airplane, weighing less than 500 pounds, flew well with the little Lycoming power plant. Shortly thereafter, the Lycoming was replaced with a 90-hp Franklin engine that had a “home-brewed” inverted system. There were many problems with the inverted system and the aircraft was eventually lost in an accident.
After building and selling a second Pitts Special “Li’l Stinker” to Jess Bristow who sold it to Betty Skelton, Curtis built a third Pitts Special “Black Magic” for Caro Bayley who worked for Jess Bristow. This third Pitts was the first equipped with a 125-hp engine and a “new-old” injection system reworked from an old Excello system to fit the Lycoming. The wings and forward portion of the fuselage were re-engineered to compensate for the increased power and gross weight. Curtis was not the only one building his design at that time. Billy Williams from OK stopped by for a visit and left with the shop plans for the little biplane. Williams never completed the project and it ended up in the hands of Dean Case of KS. He finished the plane, called it “Joy’s Toy,” and his daughter Joyce Case flew it at numerous air shows. Dean also built five other Pitts in that period. Another Pitts was built by Jim Meeks and modified to use a 170-hp Lycoming. He called the plane “Mr. Muscles.” The building of these aircraft took place from 1945 to 1959.
In the mid-1950s, the Pitts family moved to Gainesville, Florida, and still operated their crop dusting business, but there were folks who were pestering Curtis to make plans for his design available. Through the prodding of Pat Ledford, the old shop drawings were redrawn by a professional draftsman and N8L was built to prove construction of the new plans. The major change to the design was the symmetrical wing. Various aerobatic pilots tested the new wings and their comments were invaluable in making the necessary modifications. The first set of symmetrical wings had only a single set of ailerons on the lower wings. It wasn’t until 1967 that the 4-aileron, symmetrical wing was built. The plans were made available in 1962 and by 1973, more than 300 Pitts Specials were completed.
The original Red Devils team was Gene Soucy, Marion Cole, and Bob Heuer. They all flew red and white Pitts Specials and first appeared at the 1969 EAA Fly-In and Convention at Rockford, IL. Later, Marion Cole and Bob Heuer left the team and then Tom Poberezny and Charlie Hillard joined with Gene to continue the act. Red Devil N58J, Tom Poberezny’s aircraft was built by Tom, his Dad Paul and a few other friends. Red Devil N442X, Charlie Hillard’s aircraft was built by Bob Heuer, the first IAC President. N9J, Gene Soucy’s aircraft was built by the Pitts factory. All three aircraft are on display in the Grand Lobby of the EAA AirVenture Museum along with the three Eagles aircraft that were used after the Pitts Specials were retired.

With a website which has been "under construction" for over a decade its very hard to see just what products Realtoy currently offer. No doubt its still a very large range combining old and new castings but with Tesco being one of the only big U.K. retailers who continue to use Realtoy getting to see them is pretty remote. Rather like many Far Eastern toy makers they continue to produce the same castings in the same colours for years on end meaning this Subaru Impreza WRX which first saw the light of day early in the Millennium can still be bought in a lightly cheapened form in 2017! Looking far more stock and detailed than the MBX and HW equivalent its beautifully cast with a full array of painted lights and badges plus a separate plastic rear spoiler. This one was actually sold under Realtoys own Action City brand. Mint and boxed.

Brighter Lives Football giveaway to the poor kids of Choluteca. In celebration of the national team being in the world cup finals. For more information, please visit our website thank you ! This stream is dedicated to the resilient people of Honduras, especially the children, who endure a daily life of poverty and hardship, which in turn only presents them with an uncertain future and limited hope of opportunity to advance in life.
As a Honduran citizen, I can't help but feel hopeless to see so much need around me. To see children working from an early age, without ever having the chance to go to school, due to parental poverty ,and never receive an education that they and every child in the world truly deserves, really breaks my heart. Home is often of a makeshift construction, resulting in what can only be described as little more than a shack. A meal, often the cheapest foods available and lacking in the nutrients to sustain a healthy life, is all that awaits them at the end of the day.
The knowledge that 65% of Honduran people live like this, in extreme poverty weighs heavily within me.
As a Honduran photographer, I feel I must do something. Through the links provided below, I feel I can give these anonymous faces a voice, especially the children who are our future. Thank you so much for your visit and for reading a little about poverty in Honduras.
Honduras is also a land full of diverse culture and beauty....
I really feel that there is hope for Honduras

is the most northerly parish in the Principality of Andorra. Ordino is also the name of the main town of the parish. The main other settlements are El Serrat, Ansalonga, Sornàs, La Cortinada, Llorts, Segudet, Arans, Les Salines and Arcalís. It is home to the Sorteny National Park. It has a population of 3,066, as of 2005.
The town of Ordino lies on the footslopes of Casamanya (2740 m), a mountain which has spectacular panoramic views from its summit being located almost exactly in the centre of Andorra.
The National Auditorium of Andorra (Catalan: Auditori Nacional d'Andorra) is located in Ordino town. The International Narciso Yepes Festival, a series of classical music concerts, has been held there every October since 1983. The festival was started by the late guitarist, Narciso Yepes.
The parish has borders with France and also with the parishes of La Massana, Canillo, and Encamp. The only main road and only external link is the CG-3 leading to the neighbouring parish of La Massana.
In the extreme northwest of the parish is the Vallnord (Ordino-Arcalis sector ski station) ski resort which has peaks up to 2,625 m.
