Timi Yuro was an Italian-American gal who could belt out a ballad with such power she could peel paint. She had an undeniable soulful quality but also a keen sense of jazz phrasing . . . as well as pulling r'n'b and country music into the mix. Her first big hit was Hurt in 1961 and she followed it with the equally good What's a Matter Baby (Is It Hurting You?) the following year. Timi Yuro a lady who possessed a tremendous and unique voice. She made some great records.
Timi Yuro returned to her Italian origins with the 1965 release "E poi verrà l' autunno" - "Ti Credo", recorded for entry in Italy's San Remo festival. Timi Yuro reached the half final and won an award for her performance. Timi appeared a second time at the San Remo festival in 1968 and sang "Le solite cose". The casino Of San Remo is the oldest one in Italy, and has always shown a great passion for music. It housed, since it's birth the Italian San Remo festival, the "Domenica" and "Dopofestival" and many more events linked to the festival until 1976.
The San Remo Festival has always caused a tremendous outcry and this was also due to certain memorable episodes. For instance, several years ago Nunzio Filogamo (a famous Italian compere) simply could not stand the blunders made by his colleague Marisa Allasio and so he decided not to let her participate to the final night of the Festival. Sometimes the lyrics were thought to be too "explicit" - and this was the case of "Uno per tutte" (i.e., "One for all") by Tony Renis and Pericoli in 1962.
Funny episodes were also accompanied by upsetting and mysterious ones. Luigi Tenco (a famous Italian singer) committed suicide in his hotel room after knowing that his song had been eliminated. This event shocked and moved people deeply and its repercussions on the Festival audience lasted for quite some time. In recent years, something rather strange happened during the Festival. In 1996 a man tried to jump over the balcony in the Ariston Theatre so as to kill himself, but the compere managed to talk him into giving up his plan. At first, this episode caused emotion and sympathy, but then it all turned out to be a stunt and it thus ended with a lawsuit. Through the years the Festival has certainly been characterised by various episodes, which have also contributed to the establishment of a certain scent of mystery and fame that has always accompanied this great music event.

Marco Histórico
Por el año 1619 el entonces XV Obispo de Guadalajara,D. Diego Camacho y Avila encarga a los Padres Dieguinos,para su atención,una pequeña Capilla,construida con adobe,asi como una escuela de niñas desamparadas,situada al Norte de la Ciudad,es voluntad del Sr Camacho,dedicar la Capilla a la advocación del Santo de su nombre San Diego de Alcalá de Henares,recordando que era el propio Sr Camacho quien sostenia los gastos de esta obra.
Ya siendo Obispo el Señor Don Juan Gomez de Parada,en el año de 1702,se da a la tarea de edificar un nuevo Templo,en piedra y bóbrda de Material,asi como un anexo para,el Convento y escuela,obras que se conservan actualmente.
Este Complejo no escapa de ser incautado,en la epoca del Presidente Masón Benito Juarez,siendo decomisado en el año 1913 permaneciendo cerrado al culto el templo y dedalojado el convento y la escuela,dandole otros usos diversos.
El Emmo.Sr. Cardenal D.José Garibi Rivera ,gestiona ante el Gobierno Federal , la devolución del Templo y sus instalaciones,logrando en el año 1963 se regresara el Templo,con un pequeño atrio por la calle Gonzalez Ortega,asi como la Sacristia y un pequeño espacio para las oficinas,no asi el resto del convento y la escuela,estas se convirtieron en el Actual Centro escolar Manuel M Diéguez.
Una vez en manos del Clero Secular y con la cooperación de los vecinos,se dan a la tarea de restaurar los daños,que por el abandono y el mal uso que tenia el Templo y a su vez aprovechar para adecuarlo a la nueva liturgia.

Historical Background

Diego Camacho y Avila instructs Dieguinos Parents, for their care, a small chapel, built of adobe, as well as a school for homeless girls, situated north of the City, is the will of Mr. Camacho, the chapel dedicated to the advocation of Holy his name San Diego de Alcala de Henares, recalling that Mr. Camacho was himself who held the cost of this work.
Already as the Lord Bishop Don Juan Gomez de Parada, in the year 1702, is given the task of building a new temple in bóbrda stone and materials, as well as an annex to the Convent and school works that remain currently.
This Complex is not immune from being seized at the time of President Benito Juarez Mason, being decommissioned in 1913 remained closed for worship in the temple and dedalojado the convent and school, giving various other uses.

Por el año 1619 el entonces XV Obispo de Guadalajara,D. Diego Camacho y Avila encarga a los Padres Dieguinos,para su atención,una pequeña Capilla,construida con adobe,asi como una escuela de niñas desamparadas,situada al Norte de la Ciudad,es voluntad del Sr Camacho,dedicar la Capilla a la advocación del Santo de su nombre San Diego de Alcalá de Henares,recordando que era el propio Sr Camacho quien sostenia los gastos de esta obra.
Ya siendo Obispo el Señor Don Juan Gomez de Parada,en el año de 1702,se da a la tarea de edificar un nuevo Templo,en piedra y bóbrda de Material,asi como un anexo para,el Convento y escuela,obras que se conservan actualmente.
Este Complejo no escapa de ser incautado,en la epoca del Presidente Masón Benito Juarez,siendo decomisado en el año 1913 permaneciendo cerrado al culto el templo y dedalojado el convento y la escuela,dandole otros usos diversos.
El Emmo.Sr. Cardenal D.José Garibi Rivera ,gestiona ante el Gobierno Federal , la devolución del Templo y sus instalaciones,logrando en el año 1963 se regresara el Templo,con un pequeño atrio por la calle Gonzalez Ortega,asi como la Sacristia y un pequeño espacio para las oficinas,no asi el resto del convento y la escuela,estas se convirtieron en el Actual Centro escolar Manuel M Diéguez.
Una vez en manos del Clero Secular y con la cooperación de los vecinos,se dan a la tarea de restaurar los daños,que por el abandono y el mal uso que tenia el Templo y a su vez aprovechar para adecuarlo a la nueva liturgia.

The Upper Crust played their first show in the back room of a Cambridge, Massachusetts bar one Monday night in 1994.
Not for a moment did they or anyone else imagine that-more than a decade later-they would be comfortably enshrined in
the pantheon of rock stardom, polishing their platform shoes to kick it up a notch with their newly remixed, remastered
collection of stellar hits “Cream of the Crust.”
The original band concept was simple and loaded with comic potential: Young fellows singing about the joys and sorrows
of the only life they knew, like numberless youths since the dawn of rock and roll… only these lads are filthy rich and
theirs is a life of appalling self-indulgence, entitlement and privilege. The result was seen in instant classics like “Let
Them Eat Rock,” “Little Lord Fauntleroy,” and “We're Finished With Finishing School.” Like any other concept band, the
odds against longevity seemed loaded. No one has been more surprised then they themselves to find that the public's
appetite and affection for the Upper Crust, far from diminishing, has grown more insatiable with every passing year.
It was not long before the band's image resolved into sharper focus, as they adopted the dress and personae of members of
the 18th century European aristocracy in powdered wigs and knee breeches, and the identities Jackie Kickassis (drums),
Lord Bendover (guitar, vocals) the Duc d'Istortion (guitars, vocals). Original members Lord Rockingham and the Marquis
du Rocque left to pursue other careers and were replaced by the vastly talented Count Bassie (bass, vocals).
The Crust appeared on Conan O'Brien, played with Aerosmith, earned accolades in national press (Vogue, GQ, etc.). They
released three studio CDs and one live CD on various independent labels. They won the love and devotion of an ever-
growing legion of fans, among them many music and show-business celebrities like Joan Jett, Steven Tyler and daughter
Liv, Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Tenacious D, etc.; people who could appreciate the nuances of their art with its peculiar
blend of head-banging hard-rock, comedy, and theater.
Preferring the lavish comforts of their stately homes and disliking the hardships of the road, for several years they played
mainly East Coast shows and spot tours, where they would fly to England, New Orleans or Los Angeles for one or two
shows. In this way they succeeded in avoiding the demands of celebrity while enjoying its perquisites.
But now the time has come for them to claim their due, and with the aid of famed producers Sean Slade and Paul Q.
Kolderie, they've remixed and remastered a compilation of 18 of their greatest hits. Cream of the Crust is released in
collaboration with Redeye Distribution.
The band has been feverishly active since September, hitting such diverse markets as Raleigh, N.C., Milwaukee, Chicago,
Cleveland, Boston, Providence, R.I., New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore. Next, they contemplate a full West Coast
tour and a more detailed Southern itinerary, and are entertaining offers from European promoters.
A live Upper Crust DVD entitled “Horse & Buggery” will be issued by Reptilian Records of Baltimore in November
to celebrate the label's 17th anniversary.
An animated appearance on the Comedy Channel's “Code Name: Kids Next Door” is scheduled for this winter (date
to be determined).
Press activity is already swelling, with forthcoming spreads in several national publications.
The band will be doing extensive radio and press promotion is available for interviews, in-store appearances and all other

The Upper Crust is an American hard rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. The members adopt the personas of 18th century aristocratic fops and sing songs from that perspective. They use titles of nobility, wear powdered wigs and period costumes, and maintain a snobbish attitude while performing live and on their albums. The members say that their guiding philosophy is "If not great and excellent, then debauched."
Their major music influence is Bon Scott-era AC/DC, alongside glam rock band Kiss and fictional heavy metal band Spinal Tap. Rolling Stone has stated that "Dismiss Boston's Upper Crust as a joke rock band if you must, but give them this much: They're actually funny, and there's as much rock as mock to their singular brand of "roque"" and that "there's plenty of worthy riffs and double-entendre wit to go around". The group originated from a Boston surf rock band called 'The Clamdiggers'. Other related bands were The Bags, The Titanics, The Satanics, The Flies, The Oysters and Seks Bomba.

Well for the first time in a long time I haven't made anything for more than a week. Has my long, prolific run come to an end? I don't think so but it is good to take a break every now and then.
Working intuitively brings a lot of satisfaction when you produce something you like but you always have the prospect hanging over you that the next time you try that no ideas will pop out. I always feel that the next sculpture may be my last and as I plan them beforehand less and less you just have to hope the ideas will come when you want them to. The prospect of Autumn and all the wonderful colours it brings has me excited though and I feel a new chapter will begin then.
But still I have been busy. I've made big inroads into my next book and I have been putting together my new updated website which is what this post is all about. I would be grateful for any feedback, if there is anything you would specifically like to see, things to expand or remove or things that you like. You get the idea.
In the future I will be putting up exclusive content - films, photos and stories - on my site and I will be updating it regularly.
