The PrintAid Project was started in April to raise money for the earthquake disaster in Japan by selling photography prints (including one of mine). It eventually raised £1,133 for the Red Cross! THANKS to everyone who contributed. Although this particular project has been wrapped up, people in Japan are still in need and there are numerous ways to continue helping out.

It`s been 6 months since you left away...and still....nothing is like before...and never will be again...i wished i would have been able...able to fix you...but in the end we didn`t succeed. If i just could press rewind for one day...one single day...i surely would try again...try again to fix you!

I spent a very enjoyable afternoon getting completely lost in the El Carmen district of Valencia. In addition to an abundance of street art the place was full of characterful old buildings.
If I had a bit longer in Valencia I would've spent a bit more time exploring this area, and of course if / when I do go back all the street art will have changed. For that reason I guess the British equivalent is the Brick Lane area of London.

From theculturetrip.com, "While graffiti is not officially permitted in Valencia, you can still come across street artists working in broad daylight. For the most part, locals feel that the murals contribute positively to the area, inviting people to engage with their surroundings. Because of the street art's high public approval rating, the authorities mostly turn a blind eye. Some of the wall murals are so big, it's a wonder the artists were able to complete them without any interference.
The ephemeral nature of urban art means that these artworks often vanish or are replaced overnight. A street in El Carmen can look completely different from one day to the next when large, popular murals are transformed. Though it's sad to walk down a familiar street one day to find your favourite artwork is gone, the constant change means the mural's messages stay current, whether they're comments on society, politics or local culture."

An extremely rare visitor in Finland, the Common Firecrest (Regulus ignicapilla). The whole image, the yellow, the opening willow buds gave me a bit of an Easter feeling.
