This card was inspired by this great card by Jennifer McGuire:

I clear embossed the trees and then I inked each piece with Distress Ink.

I updated the Treeson Website finally!

Some people commented my design is neat and simple (yes, i like simple neat design:), and some question if i really go thru the "thinking" process when i design :) , but i have to tell them all my design go thru a complicated thinking process in my brain ;-)

Recently, i have a few sleepless nights to think and draft the layout of treeson website but not satisfied, though i knew i have to finish it asap, all i can do is to try my best …

Regard the poster, invitation card and the website for treeson, you can see i use the wood texture as background, and the wood texture is from my sketch board i use for a long time, so all material around you can inspire you to create :D

please go to check out the latest Treeson website: http://www.milkjar.com/treeson/

p.s. you can listen the treeson theme song in the website, hope you like it :D

*i am sorry for not able to reply comments at this moment, i would do it when i am less busy

all the best,

bubi

Some will know that we are intending going somewhere this Christmas for some sanity ... and don't tell me that in amongst all this pandemicky stuff there ain't no Sanity Clause ... and that involves keeping eyes on two government websites to see what is legal, what is advice, what is reasonable, what is ... a cherry!!! No, Nikki, that's part of your necklace ...

A surviving part of the Wonderwall from the1984 New Orleans World's Fair Exhibition. New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 1984 Louisiana World Exposition was a World's Fair held in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was held 100 years after the city's earlier World's Fair, the World Cotton Centennial in 1884. It opened on Saturday, May 12, 1984 and ended on November 11, 1984. Its theme was "The World of Rivers—Fresh Waters as a Source of Life."

Plagued with attendance problems, the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition has the dubious distinction of being the only exposition to declare bankruptcy during its run. Many blamed the low attendance on the fact that it was staged just two years and two states from Knoxville's 1982 World's Fair, and also on the fact that it coincided with the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. There hasn't been a World's Fair in the United States since.

An 84-acre (340,000 m2) site along the Mississippi River was cleared of rundown warehouses, replaced by the structures of the Fair. This was to be a "Class B" exposition as defined by the BIE, the international body governing world's fairs. There were no major exhibits such as had been seen at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair, which started predictions that the fair could be a flop. Sadly, those predictions came true. Although 7 million guests toured the fair, it was not enough to recoup the $350 million spent to host the event. Paychecks started bouncing, and it was only through government intervention that the gates remained open through the scheduled run.

Despite its problems, the fair is fondly remembered by many New Orleans residents as well as for its noteworthy post-modern architecture, such as the groundbreaking Wonderwall designed by noted architect Charles Willard Moore and his partner William Turnball.

One of the fair's more famous attractions was the Mississippi Aerial River Transit (MART). This was a gondola lift that took visitors across the Mississippi River from the fair site in the Warehouse District to Algiers on the West Bank.

The Fair was held along the Mississippi River front near the New Orleans Central Business District, on a site that was formerly a railroad yard. While the Fair itself was a financial failure, several old warehouses were renovated for the fair, which helped to revitalize the adjacent Old Warehouse District. The Riverwalk Marketplace and Building 1 of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center are structures originally built for the fair. Most other structures and the MART were demolished after the fair closed.

My dear flickr friends. If you read my blog or my comments to the last uploaded images you may have noticed that I am not able to do more photography for quite a while due to financial constraints.

Anyway, I found a way out and am now presenting the concept of my new website. Head over to my blog thomasbirke.com to learn more about it and tell me what you think. Might this just work?

By the way, I made a facebook fanpage. This shall be the aggregation of all my internet contributions. Whenever I upload an image or post some blog entry, it will be aggregated there. So go on, become a fan.

Well you know its almost been two years since my last haircut and when I decided to grow my hair back out. It went from being an army buzz cut to... Well longer then what its ever been. I mean I left my hair long when I was younger but I never really let it get long enough for it to really be able to rest on my shoulder, let alone long enough that I needed to tie it back either. Well I also decided that since I was growing it out I would let it get long enough that I could donate some of it as well, plus I don't like going to the barber so saves me time and money by avoiding the whole haircut thing for as long as possible. Though this more or less came up in conversation at work and you know I think its about time that I start entertaining the idea of actually getting my haircut soon. I mean I even let my unruly facial hair grow back out as well, cause I'm just way to lazy to shave to be honest hahaha.

Either way I just decided to do something simple for today, another headshot of myself. I just laid down on the ground and basically just messed my hair around and that was about it really. I mean sure I set up my lights and did some post work to bring out as much detail as I could but really nothing to crazy but still simple is nice sometimes right?

Nikon SB-800 sitting directly on a 20x30 sheet of white foam core which is actually sitting on the back of the camera as well in order to get the faux ring flash look. The flash is bounced off the ceiling, firing at 1/16 power

Spent the holiday weekend doing some much needed updating. I do graphic and web design, yet my own site had been falling sadly out of date. Today I finished creating an entirely new look and feel.

*finally!!*

I plan to add actual pages for the photography and artwork... and THEN probably link to the additional websites from within the pages. For now though, this seems like a good start.

website launch!!

I shall be starting a giveaway today so check my blog and twitter for updates!

This little ghost appears all over the place in Atlanta. Usually he appears by himself, and not with a legion of friends. This morning, after photographing dozens of ghosts in different parts of the city, I finally found this wall where the artist had painted dozens of ghosts, and also left a link to his website: mrfangs.com.
