As expected, an import from the 90s. Did seem to be really well preserved but you'd expect a campervan to be, I think this may have been a conversion from a people carrier, perhaps?

Stevenson's No24 (WCD 72) was a Leyland PD2 with a Weymann body that had been new to Brighton Corporation in March 1959, and was typical of the many front engined double deckers acquired by Stevensons in the early 1970s.

By the time this picture was taken at Stevenon's Uttoxeter Garage on 14th March 1981, No24 had been withdrawn from traffic for sometime and was in the process of being readied by Stevenson's for sale to Wolverhampton Council for use as a playbus.

After use as a playbus, WCD72 was sold to a firm of electrical contractors in the mid 1980s, who removed the upper saloon roof and were using it as a platform to assist electrical engineers to mount lighting along the roof of road tunnels in Wales. Probably something to do with the rebuilding and realignment of the A55?
