I spent an entire morning on the third floor balcony, before i peed, brushed my teeth, took my medicine or had breakfast because i heard our cedar wax wings had stopped by for a heavy lunch. It was two o’clock before I left that spot. Two hundred seventy one pics later, this one is my fave. There a juniper berry in his mouth.
20% crescent moon on a cold and clear evening in Bournemouth with the planet Venus also showing up nicely just below the moon.
After two solid days of rain, the skies cleared on Sunday, giving us a great view of the rising moon.

Attended a party & spotted this gorgeous candle wax still-life! Someone really enjoys candle light everything, lol, very creative =)
Tonight's Waxing Crescent Moon.
I find this to be one of the most challenging moon phases, to be able to capture some detail in a tiny amount of light.
May all the external obstacles related to health and prosperity,
the internal obstacles related to mental disturbances,
and the sacred obstacles related to spiritual development dissolve.
And may all happiness, prosperity, and spiritual growth flourish like the waxing moon.

Forgive the horrible colour banding that flickr introduces to the image........banding that doesn't exist on my original.

Have a great Friday Y'all
The moon was waxing crescent last night. Which gave the opportunity to capture it just before it set.
The Swasey Boys settled on the San Rafael Swell in the 1870s. They named most of the geologic formations on the Swell. This one is dubbed Sid and Charley--two of the Swasey brothers. Sid is the slender one and Charley the more stout. As geologic formations, these two monoliths are separated clear to the bottom. There are no other tall rock formations in the area. They stand alone.

The waxing evening moon (around 88% illuminated) imaged from suburban Belfast, last evening. Just before the clouds rolled in. Skywatcher Esprit 120ED and a ZWO 2600MC
A re-process of images taken last year, this time pre-processed in PIPP and stacked in Registax after some advice from Ron, then edited in Photoshop and Lightroom.
Theres so much more detail in this than the Photoshop stack, I've got a sequence of 200+ photos somewhere lurking on a hard drive that I'll have to dig out and try processing the same way!
A different type of photography from us,looking up towards the waxing gibbous moon above the village of Talsarnau in North Wales
Thrilled that we just had enough clear sky to capture a grab and go Moon shot!
Prime focus single shot, Canon 600D attached to Mak 127mm telescope
Conditions were very dewy, so we didn't hang about ;0)
The Geraldton Wax flowers were blooming beautifully in the "Mound" garden at the entrance to the Kings Garden complex and elsewhere in the park.. The bees know whether the flowers are available partly by colour. The dark pinky red flowers have been pollinated, whilst the whiter ones are just ready for pollen capture. Western Australia has a wonderful array of endemic flowers & plants and has lots of wildflower tourism. Happy Wing Wednesday.
I got tired of photographing the moon at one point, but here I am again, entranced by the moon in its waxing gibbous phase.
