Some kid caught this while we were at a campground in New Lisbon. His dad was mad when he found out the kid was bit by the snake.

Northern Water Snake

Today it was Watersnakes, they seemed to be everywhere.

Location: Durham NC USA

This male had been in pursuit of a female, which rejected him and swam off. He retreated and gave me some lovely gaping threat displays before settling down to bask.

Located at the end of the boardwalk on Lake Redman in William Kain County Park in York County, PA.

Someone pointed this snake out to me when they saw I had a camera. One of my favorite things about carrying it around is when people point out the things they find special.

Dont know whether it was a water snake, but it was near water. There was a crested hawk eagle nearby, but unfortunately we didnt get to see any action.

found close to 25 of these snakes each day i was out in the park. some major differences in patterns, and some amazing colors and patterns.

This snake, though non-poisonous, was very aggressive.
