Jon Hicks started with his trademark mystery painting at lunchtime. The paint splattered Jon Hicks spent the afternoon in the Square, effortlessly conjuring up the London skyline.

 

John Hicks painted a portrait of Elvis Presley. His trademark trick is to paint the portrait upside down. The subject of the portrait only became apparent to the spectators when he turned the painting the right way round.

One of the stalls at the Alternative Village Fete outside the National Theatre at London's South Bank challenged the hapless passer-by to Stare At Margaret. Once the sheet was removed from Margaret's head, the challenger must then out-stare this lady who brings death with her eyes. Of the many that tried, I only saw one succeed. He won his fairy cake prize but what will become of his soul...?
