5th May 2021
In dawn's embrace, the night retreats,
A new day dawns with fresh pursuits.
Light kisses softly, shadows play,
Erasing deaths of yesterday.
The morning sings in hues so bright,
Transforming sorrow into light.
With every beam, a promise weaves,
New paths to tread, new dreams to seize.
The past dissolves in morning's gleam,
Like mist before a sunlit stream.
In birth of day, new hope renews,
The sky unfurls in endless hues.
Let night be but a whispered tale,
In dawn's light, we will prevail.
For every end, a start renews,
A life reborn in morning's dews.
“I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it.” - William Shakespeare
Truthfully, I didn't spend enough time in this place. We just dropped in to take a peek for a future shoot. We have been watching so many great landscape photographers give us tips over the winter. We are now ready to find some decent landscapes to shoot! What impressed me about these pros is the amount of time they spent in one location just getting the right composition and light. Sometimes they stayed up to 3 hours in one spot.
When I took this image, I wished I had my polarizer and tripod with me. But I did the best with what I had. However, today we spent time in one location with all our gear and "wasted" time trying to get a good landscape image. ( Those images will come later. ) After spending the day along the shoreline with a gentle breeze, taking my time to think and create, I did not in the least feel like I had wasted my time.
Happy tree-mendous Tuesday! BTW, my book about "The Hidden Life of Trees" finally came in the mail today! This image shows a local park where I may just set up my hammock between two trees and read.

Leaving an unpleasant odour in its wake, the 6E26 10.41 Knowsley Freight Terminal to Wilton EFW Terminal loaded containerised household refuse "Binliner" approaches Middlesbrough station at sunset on 16th September 2019, headed by DB Cargo 66188. This Victorian signal box, and the box at Whitehouse level crossing further east, were demolished between 13th-15th November 2021.

"I really believe in empty spaces, although, as an artist, I make a lot of junk. Empty space is never-wasted space. Wasted space is any space that has art in it. An artist is somebody who produces things that people don't need to have but that he, for some reason, thinks it would be a good idea to give them."
- Andy Warhol

Exodus 16:3 “And the children of Israel said to them, It would have been better for the Lord to have put us to death in the land of Egypt, where we were seated by the flesh-pots and had bread enough for our needs; for you have taken us out to this waste of sand, to put all this people to death through need of food.”
Not a pretty sight, but my everyday images reveal the world around us as it is. Some of it, we would probably rather forget about.
This is but one such site in a road where there are several others. How many in the area, across London, the UK - everywhere?
Even at this local level, you can see that waste management is a major industry.
